Adam celebrates his fandom for The Mandalorian with a build of the new LEGO set of The Razor Crest ship from the show! And keeping watch during the build is Adam's new Mandalorian helmet replica, built off scans of the original prop. Plus, in a first for Adam, he's going to take on this build without knolling the pieces! Shocking!

YouTube: "Do you want to spend 28 minutes and 18 seconds watching a grown man build a Lego set?"
Me: "Show me."

Adam Savage Translation Key:

Gina Carrera = Gina Carano
Pablo Pascal = Pedro Pascal
Razor Quest = Razor Crest
Shore Trooper = Scout Trooper
Photon Torpedoes = Proton Torpedoes
*Carl Weathers = Greef Karga

*We here at the ASTK are aware this one isn’t factually incorrect, but it’s clear Adam couldn’t remember his character name. We’re only here to help. You’re welcome.

Lego should've put "this is the way" at the top of every page of the instruction manual.

I used to work on the LEGO SW team quite a while ago and I have quite fond memories of that time in my career. I still get excited when such a great model comes out and I love it when other toy experts get excited too!

A big thank you for highlighting the importance and quality of the LEGO building instructions. This is one of the areas where LEGO truly differs from the knock-offs: When we developed the first "big" StarWars models (10xxx) targeting a more grown up audience (internally, we call them just "self-buy" as opposed to kids who would get them as a present) there were lots of discussions about the right level of complexity of the building process (which is, of course) deeply linked to BI development. It was decided that we won't take any shortcuts whatsoever and bite the bullet and develop the BI in a way that also kids can follow along easily. As all BI steps are also built as a physical model, large areas of office floor space got occupied by the SW BI team laying out each and every step for review... it is this incredible attention to quality that's ensuring great building experiences! At the same time, people (consumers and fans of LEGO) often don't see what a huge cost driver making really good BIs actually is: you are not paying for bricks, first and foremost you are paying for the labor of hundreds of incredibly talented and dedicated experts!

13:30 I love love LOVE your "Search Party" technique! I've never thought to drop a second, similar piece to watch the bounce patterns. That was amazing Adam! :D

I love the suspense he tries to build up at the beginning despite the fact we would have already read the title to the video.

25:03 - Those are PROTON Torpedoes. The PHOTON Torpedoes are used in an other Star franchise. ;)

The "search party" process of intentionally dropping a similar piece in order to track the trajectory of a piece you can't find is ingenious.

You forgot to build Mando's bed! Under the cockpit, in the compartment on the right side of the Crest, that's his bunk but you left some pieces out.

I am a graduate student in mathematics and sometimes all I want to do is build a massive Lego set on a weekend. I can't afford these right now so I am glad I get to watch you build sets every now and then. Thanks Adam and team!

I'm working at the hotel here in Memphis, and Mr. Savage, you have no idea what it was like for me to simply park your car, but not just that either. Carry YOUR bag from your car for you with who knows WHAT kind of toys or gadgets in there. 🤣 I was fangirling hard not gonna lie. When you pulled up and my boss said, "Hey it's the mythbuster Adam Savage!", I didnt believe it cause it caught me offguard, but I saw you walk up towards the lobby, and then out later in the evening. And I was like man thats so awesome. I grew up on Mythbusters. Im 20 now and it was just so awesome to see one of the great guys who got me so interested in science and tech and being bold with everything. After all these years you still have that amazing energy!! Hope I see you and can speak to you in person before you headout. Peace bro 🇺🇲💪

'Mechanical calico' is possibly the most apt description for wanting to mix machinery with the randomness of weathering, heavily used aesthetic and the way nature deals with man-made objects over time. I LOVE that phrase. It's my new favorite way to describe the way something man-made can look.

Interesting that time to completion of a lego build is a thing. Building LEGO is a zen thing for me. It ticks all the boxes, organization, building, and themes that interest me. It’s not something I rush rather something I savour.

I built this set last week, and after a few years of not building Lego I have a newfound love for it

I got this set and LOVE it! Lego did such an amazing job capturing the look of the Razor Crest as well as actually giving it room inside to be a transport ship and the thing is so sturdy. Well done and thanks for posting! BTW for ANY fan of The Mandalorian, Hasbro Pulse, right now, is taking orders for the BEST version of the Razor Crest to ever be conceived in toy form! This thing is really AMAZING! Orders stop on 11/09/2020.

Adam, I would like to seriously thank you. You got me into science and engineering. You made me the person I am today, and I remember some of your funniest moments on MYTHBUSTERS. I would just like to thank you

Every time I see Adam drop a Lego and say "Oh where did you go now?" It speaks to my soul. My go to saying whenever I see something slip and hit the ground is "Gone forever". or
"Into the void". Worst still is when you never hear it hit the ground.
