What I hate about the dungeon guardian is that there was no warning. No danger sign, no warning text, not even a poem. I had to learn about it's existence the hard way, and I lost all my stuff.

Update: I was going towards Skeletron knowing I would lose for the like 7th time, strolling through the corruption, then my gravity randomly flipped, I ended up on a sky island, found a Starfury, and easily beat Skeletron. Now I’m finally advancing again. I love this game.

I decided to fight Skeletron, like most others in this point of the game. I thought I had made a mistake after starting the fight, but I didn’t take to much damage. In fact, I didn’t even go below 100! Thanks to my handy Minishark, I somehow killed him FIRST TRY! The only reason I was able to do that was because of my friend who tell me tips, and most importantly, this very tutorial. Thank you so much, you really helped me get through this, even on my first try!

An alternative to Spectre/Terraspark boots is Amphibian boots. They greatly increase vertical mobility and will last you through the game since many bosses and events on expert/master mode demand high mobility. You can also get fishes required for certain potions or good loot along the way too, since it both ingredients are gained through fishing. The loss of 4mph is mostly negligible as youre more likely to fly more than run.

Edit: An expensive option for rangers is Star Cannon. Shred the boss in seconds even on master mode! Just make sure to stock up on alot of fallen stars though.

One tip is to use the meatball mace if you play crimson as this is one of the strongest post dungeon wepons and it helps you keep distance
