Young people please, give this a lot of thought. I am 71, Marine veteran, expat contractor the last twenty-three years of my forty-five year career - I do not have any tattoos and have never regretted it. Keep your body pure, holy, unmarked for I promise you will not regret it. Blessings to you in your walk with Christ.

My feeling about tattoos is you shouldn’t get them because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, so why would you want to deface your body. Just as graffiti ruins the side of train cars & buildings, tattoos make your body look cheap.

I've read once a question asked to a famous rock star why he didn't have any tattoos. His response..."Because you don't put a bumper sticker on a Mercedes." That's one way of putting it...

God the Father has “MARKED” us with a seal - the Holy Spirit. Why on earth do we need any other thing

Now being Christian, I regret the marks imprinted on God's temple. It's a conviction but I know I'm forgiven. One is being removed. The image is basically communicating "stone heart forever". When I read where the heart of stone is replaced with a heart of flesh I wept with gratitude and decided to remove the image as a personal response to God's mercy and grace.

GOD'S WORD we're not to defile the body. GOD took me to the OLD TESTAMENT when telling me you're not getting a tattoo.

I never saw a need for a tattoo and I was in the military. I'm not against them but never had a desire to get one.

Nothing states conformity to the current culture outwardly better than a tattoo. In this culture, Christians are too often living a life of an unseparated walk from the world. While I can't judge a believer who may have tattoos remaining from a life he walked out of, I would find it hard to justify a new believer getting a tattoo even if it was a Bible verse. True religion is to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

I think it goes back to vanity and drawing attention to oneself-our body is a temple of the HS and should not be desecrated. Also why is it that those who come to Christ regret that they have one.

Romans 12:1-2 speaks to us about presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice.

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

The body being a temple is really key here I believe. Why would you desecrate God's temple with graffiti (Tattoos)?

I have met people who regret getting their tattoos, I have never met anyone who regretted not getting a tattoo.

I got one when I was 18, I am now 72 and am sorry I ever got it. I got it for the wrong reason anyway, if there is any right reason, but I thought it would make me look tougher and was a cool thing to do. I became a Christian after I got it and even if I were not a Christian, I am still sorry I got it. But, that is just me, I am no ones judge.

Grown man, I have tattoos. Now born again and reading the bible, I personally would not get tattoo'd from the readings of the old testament. I read the bible as a whole. As he put it its a opinion but cloudy. God bless

I’ve never once seen a tattoo that I thought enhanced the beauty of the person wearing it.
