I really am appreciative and thankful for these review. I picked one of these up today (77")and if I can find this video in the future I'll come back and report. I've been watching this channel for a few years now and I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of the time that has put into these reviews with the technical detail. Between this Channel and rtings, I ended up doing rock, paper, scissors with the sales guys between the a90l, s90c and the C3. A90L was the winner. I'm sure I would have been happy with any one of them.

Great review! Why oh why won’t these TV manufacturers put in Gigabit Ethernet ports for just Pennie’s more. In 2023 there shouldn’t be anymore 10/100 ports anymore.

Got a A80L 55inch on 30th April 2024. Loving it so far. Yes, might not get a bright as other TVs but used the colour adjustment settings as used on my A80H and it seems to be really working well. Getting the stands set up is way easier than the A95L, they just slot in. Giving my A80H to my partner, just gotta find a way of getting it to her as I don't drive

That's why I use Sony, for their magnificent upscaling. I watch mostly old content in a very bright environment which is a no-no for OLEDs.

You should comment on out of the box accuracy of the most accurate and game modes. What's the point of measuring calibrated TV when most of the people won't do it? What you get for your money is out of the box experience and you should cover that too.

"it is great after calibration", what does that even mean to most viewers?

A80J still looking good at this point. Though that gaming menu looks pretty sweet. One would think that's software and not hardware, though. And the hardware hasn't changed.

Great review, Vincent. I was able to get the 65" A80L from Best Buy for $1499 USD new, just before they ran out of stock (probably for good). A great deal compared to the price of the Bravia 8 for essentially the same display. It is a breathtaking picture. If you manage to get your hands on one, and you're sensitive to SOE from frame interpolation, I recommend setting the Smoothness to Min as opposed to 1. I set it to 1 and the SOE still bothered me, so I feel like Smoothness set to Min and Film mode set to High is a happy medium between very light slow motion judder and no SOE.

So vs last year's A80K, the new model has the same brightness full field and is less bright on a 10% window. Is there anything this year's model does over last year's barring a processing iteration (and a few O/S tweaks that really ought to be OTA'd to last year's model).
