Note: Sony BVM monitor does 4K nits, Bravia 9 does not. Also, We put pricing info in the description! Might … change the conversation, and maybe not a little bit. Let me know what you think!!!

I just got a new TV 3 months ago. I shouldn't be watching these videos!

That new naming scheme is easy and good. Thank you!

I used various LED TV’s for years, mostly because I preferred the brightness and affordability compared to OLED. I recently purchased the A95L and I can confirm it destroys other TV’s in terms of picture quality, contrast, detail, color, etc. You can wait for these TV’s but if you’re able to afford the A95L you can get the best now. I have my A95L in a room with windows and we have zero issues with lack of brightness. If your main reason for buying a TV are movies then the A95L is unsurpassed and I doubt what will replace it one day will be a giant leap forward. The A95L truly is ahead of its time.

A95L owner here. Am I the only person that doesn’t care for brighter panels?
I rarely have this tv at peak brightness.
After once purchasing an LED TV and regretting it for its entire lifecycle, I’ve bought OLED ever since - as I prioritise the ability to deliver accurate blacks as far more important.

I may have to splurge for the BRAVIA 9. That thing looks next level.

The new naming will be easier for me to explain to customers. Odd numbers are LED. The only even number is OLED, and of course the left over model from last year A95L.

super exciting stuff! I'll probably still pick up the Sony A95L once it goes on sale, because it'll still be an insanely good TV 5 years from now.

So do we just add 3 zeros to each model number for pricing?? 😅

I'm all over that bravia 9 and quad theater.

I can already tell everyone (including myself) is going to want a Bravia 9 vs Bravia 7 video, to see just how much better (or not) the new backlight system works.

What is known about the pricing for carry-over models? e.g. A95L?

Everyone is uploading and posting at the same time lol. Guessing the embargo was lifted

Still only two 4k/120hz ports :(
No love for the 42" Oled//mini led

Maybe the InZone line will have something for gamers in monitor size.

Thinking about getting new TV this year.. trying to decide between LG G4, or hoping a new/updated version of last year flagship A95L (QD-OLED) but this flagship (Bravia 9) is mini LED and I’m wanting premium OLED and the 8 seems like it’s more mid grade.

Unless Sony has stopped charging 50% more than competitors for an equivalent product, they haven't changed anything

Prices got inflated too high this year. If the Bravia 7 is the equivalent of the X90 then the price of the 75 inch went up 1200 bucks. Based on the specs, it certainly is most in line with the X90. The X90 replacement was what I was looking for but not at their insane suggested retail price. TCL or Hisense will likely have a very good TV at a much more reasonable price.

Would love to know more about the reflection handling of those TVs as my living room is really bright

So Local Dimming is sort-of-like having a bright B&W TV underneath the actual LED TV.
It took manufacturers long enough 😂

Bravia 9 looks promising, but probably not in the price range most can afford :).
