The coronavirus pandemic affects everyone. The global economy is in a state of paralysis. Business are closed, production has ground to a halt. In many western countries governments are dishing out generous aid packages to business owners, freelancers and companies in need. But while rich countries can cushion the economic fallout from the crisis, others stare into an abyss. In many developing and emerging economies the corona crisis hits people with full force. As a result, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has urged rich countries to do more for those that are less prepared. Otherwise, he warned, we face the nightmare of the disease spreading like wildfire in develping nations with millions of deaths.

The majority of the money given out by the first world rich countries does not reach the middle class or the poor (in that country). Instead, they all go to subsidize the salaries of CEOs. Did you know Boeing spent all their reserve money on stock buyback last few years to boost the CEOs and Board Members' salaries? Now they are asking for government handouts. How come we tell the poor to save money for an emergency and tell big companies don't worry, we will bailout? It is not just the poor in poor countries who are suffering, but also the poor in rich countries.

The sad truth for these 3rd-world countries is that the rich nations are struggling themselves to help their own people and currently cannot help the poor nations. It won't happen and not their primary concern right now.

I don't trust the UN and the WHO, don't wait for help, rather seek other ways to get out of this crisis. The West is broke, how will they support developing countries, what a joke!

People in wealthy countries have their priorities sorted out as they purchase truck loads of toilet paper.

Sometimes the cure is worse than the sickness. Poor countries don't have the luxury to close down the small to medium businesses. Other poor states just have accepted the fact that there will be 2-3% deaths that is mostly elderly with an underlying illness that will perish first.

China needs to pay financially to rest of the world. China was told by WHO and experts that they need to shut down their wet markets more than a decade ago and when Sars became a pandemic. They did not act and now we have a global pandemic that started in Whuhan china just as the experts predicted a decade ago.
