Just because carbohydrates are not "essential "does not mean they are not important. The fact that our bodies can convert other nutrients into glucose, the preferred fuel of our metabolism is proof positive that it is what our bodies prefer because it is what nature has designed into our biology.

I'm gluten free, dairy free, egg free, tomato free, alcohol free, sugar free, pistachio free, and I eat like a Queen.
It's a pivot into feeling great and no more inflammation. Working on my Hashimoto's and getting my gut healthy. My friends can not understand how I function with my restrictions.. I say I have none, there's freedom in keeping my money for myself then to give it to the doctors who are failing me.

Hey Dr. Hyman. Cool video. I love your channel! My husband is on a moods improvement journey and your videos have really helped us with that. He's gone gluten free and now we know that gluten makes him angry and depressed. I also think pesticides cause it.. I think he's reacting to non organic coffee this week. Anyway, love your channel.

I saw a different video a little bit ago about you saying that people only benefit from carnivore because it's an elimination diet, it's a form of keto, and because they're coming from a crappy processed foods diet and anyone would feel better doing that. But Dr. Chaffee talked about a time when he was carnivore for a short time, then he had plants again, and instantly felt suicidally depressed ! Then he realized what was happening and tested it again - yes indeed those plants made him feel bad! He recalled the conversation and realized that there was nothing so bad to have triggered him so much.

"Homestead how" had a similar experience where he was already doing keto and not succeeding with it because of carb addiction. His depression got so much better when he went on carnivore and he also list a ton of weight and reduced pain too.

I actually had a similar experience. I was already on ketogenic gaps for a year, but still eating yogurt, plants, honey, and eggs. I did a food elimination diet a long time ago, been through the candida diet etc etc so I know I wasn't eating allergens and it had been 9-10 years since eating a processed foods diet. Then most recently I was on keto gaps. I went all organic, cut out pesticides. I cut out sulfur foods. I cut out dairy. My problems got better.. but I was eating beets, with occasional green beans, radishes and meat.. mostly just beets and meat for a few months. Then I went on the carnivore diet, just to try it out, for two weeks. I had dinner with some Friends and ate beets and black tea that night. Felt bad the next day. Then I was carnivore for another week or two. Had dinner with my parents where I ate veggies again, including roasted asparagus, beets, cauliflower and radishes, with olive oil and salt. I felt ok while eating them but the felt bad the next day and the day after. Went back to just meat, and mostly just beef. Feeling amazing. Been doing carnivore for 2 months now and I'm convinced.

I'm explaining this just to point out that clearly iys not all about "Everyone who starts carnivore feeling good because they're coming from a junk food diet or SAD diet"

I just wanted to suggest an idea.. it'd be really fascinating if you, Dr. Boz and Dr. Eric Berg all got together to do carnivore for a month or two as an experiment and report back with a group conversation. If I remember right, I think you're all pro-functional medicine, pro-keto, pro-lower carb, pro-meat, etc. But all saying carnivore isn't the way. It'd be really fascinating to watch this experiment!

T1 Diabetic here. Carbs other than vegetables are horrible for you. Read the comments… most people know about heavy metals, oxalates, arsenic and “enriched” food and they spike blood glucose. No thanks.

So, grains that sustained us now drain us, how strange. Now let's use the word grains as a whole as they come to us not by manufacturing method but by the natural method as was to be intended. Man takes the cheap produce and messes with it to not look anything like it was and add salt, oil, sugar, and pkg it as a grain product and we fall for it hook line and sinker.
Get whole grains and cook them and eat them without any unnatural ingredients and let's see what happens.
