Having a sister with celiac disease Has caused me to become gluten free and grain free and I feel much much better! It's to bed I didn't find that out before I had grave's disease and lost the ability to make thyroid hormone by the current medical treatment of graves! I think genetically modified food as altered our health tremendously. I also feel the FDA and the agricultural societee in general has to accept a lot of responsibility for the current rise in our chronic conditions.

I did not get tested, I just did experiment on my self & removed gluten to see what would happen & lost 20 lbs in 30 day! Removed all grains & lost 20 lbs in 60 days! Off dairy got me 30 lbs in 60 days too! I ended up reversing 15 conditions by changing my diet, detoxing, etc.

Flora needs to be discussed. There is some discussion on that having to do with gut permeability. Such as having a gluten sensitivity involving an autoimmune disease, but once the gut is healed, then eating some gluten doesn’t cause inflammation. Hopefully on another podcast?

Why is it, then, that in almost all of the Blue Zones, where populations enjoy long, disease-free lives, grains are included every day? It's not just the food consumed, but the whole lifestyle - culture, community, quality, sourcing - that affects what the digestive system can properly assimilate.

All of this research is helpful. However, it does not take into account the toxins used in harvesting wheat and its effect on the body.
