OLAPLEX BEFORE and AFTER!! What happened??

OLAPLEX before and after. the brand made my hair so damaged. it broke my hair. I was using olaplex for about 2 months aprox 2 times a week at most and after just two months of using the product i noticed my hair visibly weaker, shorter and more damaged. i did some digging into this and turns out ALOT more people are having issues with this than not..

this is just my personal review and how i feel about the product and the brand.

When I did hair the no. 3 Olaplex (the one blow dry professor reccomends in particular) worked well for bleached and colored hair clients. I never saw breakage as a result of the treatment, but an adverse reaction to a new product is always possible.

I'm sorry you had a bad situation and I'm glad the company refunded the money. If your hair isn't damaged by bleach and color or texture services you likely don't need to use bond builders at all. Just normal moisturizing products may be a good baseline if you have hair that tends to be dry.

Girl, this is just like my story! My hair was past my butt. It's in a terrible state now, all broken throughout and fried feeling. They refunded me too but didn't even require a picture. Guess it happens often enough that they have a whole "hush" system in place to deal with it. Thanks for making this.

Im going through this right now and scared that I won’t be able to reverse the hair damage. Olaplex has caused massive hair loss and hair thinning !! I’m binge watching all these videos because I’m just so shocked I thought it was all in my imagination. But no, Olaplex is the only product that I added to my routine and it my hair is now destroyed.

SOOO many reasons for negative experiences w/ this product line but everyone goes straight to blaming the product itself. What is Olaplex? Its purpose.." first-of-its-kind bond-building haircare product. Works to repair disulfide bonds destroyed through hair treatments, maintenance, the environment, and the aging process." Its focus is REPAIR! Those w/ damaged, dry, processed hair, NOT so much for those w/already healthy hair!! Some were leaving #3 in for HRS n overnight when the MAX time is 45 mins n not putting it on clean hair either. Ppl were using products daily or too often vs occasionally which leads to dimethicone buildup n smothering of the hair shaft which causes dryness n breakage. Purchasing fake products frm Amazon/ebay vs authorized seller. Also what works for one might not work for the next. Kinda like aspirin works for u but ibuprofen works for me. Just a few examples that could explain bad results but everyone’s quick to solely blame the product.

The Blowout Professor mentions in multiple videos he's not the biggest fan of Olaplex line, really a fan of mainly 1-2 products. Olaplex has 2 types of products Repair n Styling. He breaks it down in multiple vids n his explanations are for different reasons. N btw, he's not the only one to say some of these things either. There's multiple vids w/ the topic of using Olaplex correctly.

#4 n #5 only for repair. Doesn’t recommend. 1. B/c it repairs the hair it’s very heavy n will make it feel oily n dirty so won’t last long before u have to wash.(Sounds familiar) 2. Only good for damaged hair!
#3 again for damaged hair, his favorite #1 product he recommends n says all u really need.
#1 n #2 are pro products – irrelevant
#0 is meant to be used w/ #3 as combo, #3 already does all the heavy lifting, #0 not worth the money
#6 is for styling, would really only recommend if u blow dry n will also help repair
#7 oil excellent for fine thin hair his other fave
#8 is good but there’s better products out there, not worth the price
#9 it’s good but not the best, #6 is better, this just adds shine

I just got an olaplex treatment in salon (1, 2 and 4in 1 mask) during my Demi-permanent hair color service, should I be worried about consequences??

I've seen a few videos and shorts from the Blowout Professor and he always says in his videos the only olaplex product he recommends is No3 that all the others aren't needed and using the entire line or too much can be bad for your hair. I haven't personally used olaplex as it's too pricey for me, but I use the olaplex dupe from Sally's when I bleach my hair. Prior to a salon ruining my hair last year I had long healthy platinum hair. I'm sorry this happened to you, I just haven't seen that particular content creator suggest using the products you mentioned.

As far as heat styling tools now since you have to be careful, what do you use to avoid damage? Dyson?

I only got #3 and the bonding oils which are the ones the Hair Prof specifically recommends and they really transformed my hair… I retained so much length with these 😊products… I would only use them once a month. It may also be the hair type; I have 4A-4B heat damaged hair.

Girl….after ulta did the treatment on my hair literally 3 weeks later my hair fell tf out and I got this BURNING hive rash alll over my neck and face I couldn’t figure out wtf was going on. But watching so many videos of women having the same thing !!! I’m so pissed

Even sally beauty has a few of their products and they were recommending it to me and it makes me wonder how the stuff they use with hair lighteners and bleach because i saw a bunch of videos of it working well but if the after care stuff isnt doing well it makes me wonder how well any of it works you know

i am sorry for what happened to you, i wanted to share my story
i used olaplex 3 in this method:
1- olaplex on wet hair without shampoing and never put it on scalp + my weekly oil treatement on scalp for 2 hours
2- shampoo the "scalp" and the shampoo will fall to the hair while washing
3- use weekly mask for 2 hours
4- rense it and put daily cream on hair and rosemary spray on scalp
and my hair is A M A Z I N G my hair is saved cuz my hair was frizz like tree leafes and full of split ends even the baby hair split ends ( ofc i had to cut those )
i wonder if using "too" much of olaplex ruin the hair?

Oh my god.. i am discovering why i don't have hair... i used olaplex since 2 years. My long hair is all cutted... till the ears...😢 i went to the doctor and he said i have alopecia... so thin and broke... i am going to stop right now with olaplex 😮 my hair was bigger une side than other... like yours...

I think it’s meant for actually damaged hair. If it’s just split ends then maybe you should only have used a tiny bit and shampood it out xx
