I cannot speak for anyone else's experience; however, I have been natural for over 18 years. I have tried many of the big name products for natural hair on the market. Last year, I began using the Olaplex line. It has been a game changer for my hair. My hair is more manageable, retains more moisture, splits less, I have better curl definition, and my hair bounces back from heat much better than it did with any of the products I've tried before. I LOOOOVE Olaplex!! I have combined Olaplex with Camille Roses Curl Love and all I can say is LIFE is GOOD!!

Olaplex isn’t for natural hair, it’s for chemically treated hair. It repairs disulfide bonds that can only be broken by chemical processes. This is why it works on your color treated hair. Disulfide bonds are the hardest bonds to break, not even heat can break them. They can only be broken with chemicals. Please learn about the products you’re using before slapping them in your hair. Olaplex isn’t meant for natural hair, unless you’ve chemically treated it with color for instance, in which case it is no longer natural in reality. People need to do their research instead of just buying products with no idea of what it is meant for. By the way, all that I’ve said can be easily found on the company’s website if anyone bothered to look into it.

4Z girlie here ( meaning I’m a real 4c girl fr) and I’ve used olaplex on my color treated “natural” hair and it worked wonders for keeping my color and preventing breakage. But it’s really not that special if you are just looking for something hydrating/moisturizing for the hair. But a necessity for bleached, permed, transitioning hair because it will keep the integrity of the hair strong. Also I like it for the girls who have protein sensitivities and don’t respond well to protein treatments. Psa: you don’t need the whole line just pick the products that will blend into your already existing routine!

I think people who have issues with Olaplex are due to user error. They are following tips which the product was not meant to do, like leaving no.3 on overnight . It can work on natural hair but it's not meant to be used as frequently as someone with chemicals on their hair. I have relaxed hair and I use it weekly/biweekly and love it! It helps my hair to not tangle, fixed the porosity, I can go much longer without a touch-up, and my hair retains moisture much better. Only one product that does all the work is no. 3.... No. 5 and 6 are good, but the rest are optional

I saw that women were losing their hair from using olaplex. I'm not messing with it, period.

olaplex is salon grade and for all hair types. olaplex is not an everyday shampoo or conditioner, it's way too strong. it's mainly used to test damage hair or for treatments. I use to work in a salon and hearing people say they use olaplex everyday hurts my soul

I have 4c hair and have been natural for at least 8 years. There was a point in time where my hair was damaged and was growing out straight and brittle, mind you I also don't use any heat on my hair so I'm still unsure of what was going on with my hair. I've only used the Olaplex hair protector and honestly didn't believe it would work for my hair type, but it helped bring my hair back to life! Even after my first time using it, my hair quickly bounced back to its natural state.

I was skeptical too, but Olaplex No. 3 seems to work for me. I’ve been transitioning from relaxed to natural (a mix of types 3 and 4) for two years now. About an inch or so of my natural hair, just above the demarcation line, was getting rougher over time despite giving it lots of attention and moisture. I decided to try No. 3 on a small section of my hair after I saw a few natural YouTubers review it, and what do you know—that section of my hair is now much smoother after one use 🤷🏾‍♀️ I tried it on another small section (different texture and curl pattern) during my last wash day, and that part is no longer rough either. I have the 4-piece kit, but I think I really only need No. 3 and maaaaybe No. 0 because I don’t heat style or dye my hair. To anyone interested but nervous, I recommend trying it on a small section of hair, not using any of the products on your scalp/roots, and buying it from an authenticated retailer with a good return policy.

I believe Olaplex works best for hair that has been damaged by bleach. It works well for me, but I will not be using it if I ever stop highlighting my hair.

I use Olaplex and Curlsmith. I damaged my hair with color last year in April and my curls were gone. I am 3C/4A and my curls came back after 1 month of using Olaplex weekly. I plan to use Bond Bar once I run out of my other products.

I love it. I have a mix of low porosity 3C-4B hair and it’s done great with my hair. Usually I’m super protein sensitive (low porosity hair doesn’t really need protein treatments like that) but usually I like to do one every six months during my shed cycles and I’ve definitely noticed a difference. Of course, I do what works for my hair because the gatekeeping of products is way too expensive for me to keep up with. But I will say that my hair loves OLAPLEX. It doesn’t strip my hair and surprisingly, I don’t have to get out of the shower to detangle in between the shampoo and conditioner process which is always nice. I’m a Mielle girl through and through but OLAPLEX has won me over. I’ve been reaching for these products more than my Mielle products (that pomegranate honey line has me in a chokehold). Buy the travel size ones first before you commit. That’s how I got started a year ago.

For reference, I have never dyed my natural hair. The only chemical treatments I have done were relaxers (I’m 5 years natural now). I do use protective styling and get scalp injections for my psoriasis.

I have 4c I've used the Olaplex #3 at home and have had the whole line used at the salon the most important thing is following it up with a hydrating treatment, conditioner something to add the moisture/hydration back into your hair.

4c girl here also bought it with my money 😂. Olaplex changed the relationship I have with my hair. Years of color, relaxing, braids undid after one treatment. I would just recommend you use it the way it instructs you

You only NEED the #3 and the #6 leave in. The rest of the line is overkill

I like using Olaplex No.3 before blow drying my hair, before putting braids/twist with extentions in my hair, when I take down my braids. And this is on wash days. It works wonders on minimizing breakage and tangles even for the next wash day when I don't use it. I have all the 4types in my hair, fine hair with multiple porosities and protein senstive. It's not good on healthy hair becuz it's for damage hair or b4 you are about to do a style that can be damaging. I still use protein but I can use lower protein treatments now instead of harsh heavy protein treatments that make my hair super dry and brittle. Olaplex is great if you don't use it every wash day to extend the life

I would say you’re leaning towards 4A hair
