Dark Souls 3 DLC: Darkeater Midir - Guide (No dmg taken)

Tactic explained here in the description!

Short version: Always stay in front of the head. Never go attacking the tail. Run left if Midir does flying flame breath or the long combo.

Long version: Going behind, under or side of Midir triggers moves that are difficult to avoid and usually one shots you. Staying near the head often triggers easy-to-read melee moves that are highly punishable with charged heavy attacks.

Safest way to punish Midir's melee moves is to dodge away from it and create enough space between you two to outrange the last move of the melee combo while you charge an R2 attack. You just have to study and learn the moves but after you have done it, they are very easy to read.

Bite+bite+flamethrower -combo has a very good opening after the second bite. Dodge it towards the boss and run next to the left front leg (your right). You are safe there.

Second phase has the humanity spam spell. Midir can do anything during it so run away from Midir and then left and hope for the best. Usually you can avoid everything that way.

There is no need for lightning fast reflexes here. If you have patience to learn the moveset, Midir becomes pretty predictable.

Dragonslayer Swordspear works best after the weapon art since it also buffs the spear. The falling bolt deals more damage than unbuffable R1 also so use it. Simple infused dagger is just for the FP regen.

Well I will be honest. That was cool. The Nameless King is a perfect match against a Dark Dragon. I totally forgot about the sword spear as a lightning weapon probably cause the damage wasn't top tier. Thanks

So, the only issue I’m having is controlling him. But watching this vid showed me the power of the Sunlight Spear. I started using it against Midir today, and actually FINALLY got him to his second phase. So, there’s progress and that’s more than I can say about the past few days against Midir.
