Lyrics - Saturday Night Special

How many times must I watch them die before some action is taken
How many times must times must I watch them die at the hands of their addiction
How many times
I've had enough
You will find no comfort here with a needle in your arm
Too many good souls have died
Lost to their own deception
You will find no comfort here
You will only find pain
It's nothing more than an escape from your reality
It's only selfishness
It's selfishness
A selfish means to your demise
You destroy the lives of everyone else this was all your decision
You fell to the lowest cracks of the earth and you crawled there on your own
Now you suffer at your own hands all alone
We only hope for a better way
Another way
To bring you back
This time it's personal
I will not watch you die
How many times must I watch them die before some action is taken
How many times must I watch them die at the hands of their addiction
How many times
Break these chains
It's time to take control of your own life
We don't have to be slaves
I've had enough
This time it's personal
I refuse to watch another victim fall
That's it I've had enough
Just take my hand and get back up
We don't have to be slaves

I just now found the lyrics in the description, and DAMN, is it deep! Deeper than I thought. The song, in my viewpoint, is basically about addiction/sin and the affects it has on your life. Depending on what it is (steroids, alcohol, doing crime, etc), people are practically killing themselves, and likely others around them, due to these sins/addiction.

You sink to the lowest cracks of the earth
And you crawled there on your own
Now you suffer at your own hands all alone

“You chose to do drugs and become an addict. You chose to live a life of sin, and be content with it. Now you're suffering from it, with no one to place blame on, but yourself."

We don't have to be slaves
I've had enough
This time, it's personal
I refuse to watch another victim fall
That's it, I've had enough
Now take my hand and get back up

“You have that one person (or few people) in your life that really care about you and want to see the best in you. Them having to see you waste away like that affects them on a personal level, so they offer a helping hand to pull you out of the darkness that clouds your mind. The choices you make. They want you to be in control of your life, not to let addiction or sin take control and be the death of you. They say that the wages of sin is death." I personally feel this way a lot, on both sides, though I'd never really (or intentionally) hurt anyone.

That's my interpretation. Boy, I tell you, some of the best songs are the ones that are both powerful and deep/true. Though aggressive, this song is really touching.
