I don't know why a woman would marry a man who is giving nearly half his/ their income to another woman. If they are saying the ex is "unmarketable", then he is certainly "unmarriagable". What were they both thinking?

I dated a guy who barely made over minimum wage and he owed back child support. I would have never let myself marry into that. Everytime we would have gotten any money it would have gone to his ex. No thank you.

She had to know what he was paying out a month when they married because the ink is barely dry on his divorce papers. She has to get a full time job because it's the only way they can grow their income quickly. How on earth did she support herself before they met?

I refused alimony in my divorce proceedings. My lawyer thought I was crazy .. Even walking in to the final hearing, she said, "Are you SURE you don't want alimony?!?"

I thought, 'Noooo ... I don't want him knowing anything about my life including if I'm cohabitating with anyone or get remarried Etc... he didn't care enough to be involved in my life WHILE we were married, why should he care what happens AFTER we're divorced?' I didn't want him to know where I lived, where I worked, or even my phone number. Such a sociopath.. there's no way I would have taken a penny from him. I just wanted my freedom.

$2250 a month for child support and alimony. Yikes! Loneliness doesn't seem so bad compared to a lifetime of financial death trap.

Just because child support ends doesn't mean that the dad won't continue to financially support his child. That's the reality. The woman needs to graduate and get her own income in case this doesn't work out.

People....Simply don't marry a divorced person or a person with children. It's not worth it. You are asking for a heap of trouble with exes, kids who will eventually say you're not my mother or father, always competing with the memory or emotional scars of an ex, financial dramas beyond belief. The number of second marriages failing is at an all time high. Save your time, money and emotions, there are tens of thousands of people out there with no baggage to carry. DON'T SETTLE.

Yikes. I think it's things like this that make me glad I'm still single. It's difficult to find a guy who's not divorced.
