the way people make realistic is just using textures, the leaves are planes with leaf textures, then the tree trunk is a cylinder with some details and bark texture, for rocks im not sure but it 100% uses textures

im pretty sure they use 3D scanning for terrain assets like rocks, it shapes it and textures it right away

you can tell if something is 3D scanned if it has a transparent end on one side

2 things cause this @RoBuilder

1. Its usally because decals can only be seen from the face of where they are placed (e.g if you made a decal on the front face it would dissapear from the back)
2. meshes can be seen from the outside but not from the inside somtimes so apply that mechanic to the leaves and there you go. you could dupe the texture and flip it upside down but it would have to be exactly the same as the one on top

The only criticism I can give this is to change the water transparency to 1, but this is overall very good, especially from someone who is used to making low poly assets.

DON'T PAINT WATER IT REMOVES THE TERRAIN WHEN YOU DO THAT. Personally I erode a area out for the water then use the sea level feature

To make realistic meshes you need images of real life leaves/rocks etc. and duplicating them in different formations or changing it a bit

Check double-sided! It fixes the thing where they only look good at the top.

Robuilder! Next time the texture issue appears, enable double sided and see If that fixed it as it should.

Toggleling double sided on mesh parts allows it to be seen from both angles, for example, if you have a tree trunk and when you go inside youll see it's hollow, toggleling double sided allows it to see the inside of the trunk! So toggleling double sided on those leaves will allow it to look better

Blender is a good starting point on making things . I am like beneath a beginner on Blender ( I need more time 24 hrs isn't enough ) But there's some really talented people there . Here's my top people I like to watch when I have time ( Too many and not enough time ) PIXXO 3D,
Grant Abbitt , Blender Art, The CG Essentials , CG Geek , 3DTudor , DatBoiEle( Roblox ) . The tree thing in Roblox, they allow only so much poly count . But there is a way to lower the poly count and things on objects . I just have to learn how to do everything . Another good builder He uses just Roblox Studio , his work is truly amazing , Model Creator .

4:40 enable double sided in the mesh properties and it will fix it

You can fix the tree by clicking on it and inside properties if you scroll down you should see double sided which should make the bottom the same as the top your welcome😊

I see a lot of forest builds and the issue is they never get the foliage right. It’s always too little and foliage fills everything and makes it all connected.

Its very easy!! Basically for the trees make a smooth cylinder in blender, then give it a trunk texture and add leave decals. rocks: make a blender rock model then give it a texture

at 4:46 the leaves need to be doublesided right now its not double sided so just check on that mark and it looks good

4:58 it's probably the mesh part graphics so go to file studio settings rendering then change the first one to level 21 if it's lagging change it lower
Then on the second one I think it's probably mesh parts change distancebased or what ever you have it set to and change it to level 00
