Who You Need to Confess to
In regards to confession and true repentance, you need to confess to the people you have sinned against.  But sins that are in your mind, for example if you have lusted and it was lusts IN YOUR MIND and you committed adultery in your heart, that sin is against GOD, it is against the Holy Spirit and you need to confess that sin to Him, not to the people you lusted after.  If you went around telling all the people that you lusted after that you are a pervert and you thought perverted things about them, you will make your sin problem 10 times as bad.  Rather confess those thoughts of your mind and your heart to God, repent of the lusts of your heart and if you have committed adultery outwardly or if you have said things to people that offended them, then you need to go to those people and confess your sins. Confess your sins to your wife if you sinned against your wife, or your husband if you sinned against you husband.  If you have sexually harassed someone then you need to repent of that, if you have spoken things ungodly about people and slandered them, you need to repent of those things.  But sins that are in your own mind, fantasies, things that are perverted that you have thought of about other people, those are sins against GOD.  And you need to repent before God of those things and confess those things before God.  Make sure that you go to each person that you have really offended, ask for forgiveness, confess your sins to those that you need to confess to.  But make sure that you also confess your secret sins that were a sin against God to GOD.  Make sure that you are upright, pure and holy, and that you really have your life in order with Jesus Christ.  Otherwise when you stand before Him He will say, “Away from Me, you who commit sin, I don’t know you…”  Those are the words that many Christians will hear when they stand before God because they NEVER truly repented.  Make SURE that you truly repent.  May the grace of Jesus be with you.
