Grogu was with Mando for multiple years before Luke rescued him in the season 2 finale

He trained with Luke for around 2 years before returning to Mando in the book of boba fett

About a year after that, Mando season 3 happens

It is explained that season two and season three have a two year time-line separation and that Grogu was with Luke Skywalker for those two years being trained in the ways of the Jedi. So why did it take Mando two years to bathe in the Living Waters of Madalore?

I wouldn't say this "New Star Wars Book" destroys the "Favreau Mando Community", i'd say it simply destroys whatever Jon Favreau himself was obviously trying to original do, and the particular *Direction* he was trying to take his Mandoverse in.
I mean its pretty obvious Favreau never created that book, the Lucasfilm Story Group did, so they're the real Destroyers of good Starwars here (them and their Sith Overlord Kathy Kennedy).
