“We are what they grow beyond. Such is the burden of all masters.”

As a teacher, that hit me in the feels.

You can still hear the good old whiny Luke when he said "sacred Jedi text"

As much as the sequels have their problems, I do like this idea of Yoda basically saying, "No, we were wrong. We should help young people find a new path, rather than force them down the one we walked".
Pretty good stuff.

Although i didn't like this movie, this scene was my favorite. Seeing Yoda again brought a big ass smile on my face

I love how he said "That temple held nothing the girl did not already possess" when in reality he was saying "Shes got the books dude, chill."

I love how no matter how powerful and wise Luke became, he’s still not above a lecture from Yoda😂

I'm surprised they didn't use CGI Yoda. They went back to puppet version of Yoda. I'm happy with that

Even after death as a "force spirit", Master Yoda is so powerful he can conjure lightning at will. Well

Yoda’s wisdom in this scene is the movie’s actual thesis statement — not Kylo’s line of “let the past die.” It’s simply positing: You may have failed from time to time, things may not have been perfect in your past and now you should teach that to the next generation so that they can be better. It’s a beautiful message.

Say what you will about the movie, but this scene was a pure refined gem.

God bless Frank Oz for doing this. The voice, the puppetry, the acting. This is one of the most beautiful moments in Star Wars history!

My wife died 5 years ago which broke me. We had a seven-year-old daughter who is now 12 and this entire scene spoke to me especially when Yoda said "Lost Ben solo you did, but lose Rey we must not" and his response "I can't be what she needs me to be.." I said those same exact words to myself in regards of raising my daughter alone and what Yoda says to him about teaching her strength and Mastery but weakness Folly and failure I still cry when I think of that and when Yoda says we are what they grow beyond that is the true burden of all Masters. It reminded me of what was the most important task at hand, being a parent. Sometimes movies are done and made with unintentional side effects of relating to people on all levels. I can't say now on the greatest father in all the world but I am trying. And that is what I would like to believe my wife is proud of.

One of the greatest scenes in all of Star Wars that hits me deep every time. “The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke…we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all Masters.”
