I've found that some critters readily chew ropes -- it's creepy, as they often chew where they can be out of sight.

The reason I always bring 20’ of webbing and some cord when going anywhere new or anywhere that requires a rappel to get down

Another issue with soft goods: if they get soaked and then frozen, they tear more easily when wind flaps them around against rocks..

It looks like it’s just a mild incline probably just a guide rope due to all the lose material, not an an excuse just an observation

So honest question. When you come across dangerous stuff like this, do you cut it out or destroy it completely so it can’t be used? I feel like that is the best option, but truth be told, I don’t know the etiquette.
