After multiple Russian strikes hit the southern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, the city's firefighters and emergency services get to work on cleaning up the damage, August 19, 2022.
👉At least one civilian was killed early Friday in Russian shelling of the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, to the northwest of the Donetsk region.
The head of National Police of Kharkiv, Volodymyr Tymoshko, said a 52-year-old woman had died.
According to the representative of the Kharkiv regional police, a total of five missiles hit various districts of the city in the early hours of Friday. Several buildings were seriously damaged.
"We felt that everything was trembling and saw that the window of the bedroom was falling on the ground," said local resident Vadim Shelushenko.
Ukraine's second largest city has been the target of Russia's steady bombardments since the start of the invasion, according to regional police.
Russia claims to be targeting a concentration of Ukrainian soldiers in the area.
