A #Russian missile hit the city center of Chernihiv, north of Ukraine’s capital #Kyiv, on Saturday, hitting the main square, a university and a theater, Ukrainian President #Zelenskyy reported on his Telegram channel.

The Ukrainian air force said it was able to shoot down 15 of the 17 Iranian-made Shahed drones. It was not clear what happened to the two drones that were not shot down.

#Ukraine, meanwhile, hailed a U.S. decision to allow allies Denmark and the Netherlands to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov called the development Friday "great news from our friends in the United States."

It was not immediately clear when Ukraine might receive the jets, and Ukrainian pilots will need extensive training before they can fly them.

The fighter jets are not likely to affect the trajectory of the war anytime soon, according to U.S. officials.

Air Force General James Hecker told reporters at a virtual meeting with the Defense Writers Group on Friday that there are no prospects currently for either #Ukraine or #Russia to gain the upper hand in the air.

Russia really showed that theater who's boss. I realize Putin doesn't want to hear or see Swan Lake, but attacking a theater in Ukraine isn't going to stop the music.

Everyone could use a brief education by reading Francis Fukuyama's "The End Of History and the Last Man." Pick it up ASAP and be informed.

Real US CITIZENS stand for freedom not Russia. I have 2 Ukrainians staying with me for now over a year. Older people who cannot do the 9 floors of stairs down to the bomb shelter and back up during raid. They have a daughter and husband and granddaughter who must go up and down 8 floors. They have mothers and aunts who must live thru Putin s power grab. They wish nato and the free world countries would have been all in at the beginning. The weapons came slowly from us and time and people were lost.
My background as German immigrants grand daughter here parallels much of their experience. My three uncles fought with the Allie’s in ww2 my grandfathers nephew was ‘lost’ on the eastern front. He was Nazi. We have letters from my grandfathers family describing things that happened and appreciative of parcels sent to them. One stating, please only send coffee and wrap so no smell for risk of confiscation. With one pound of coffee the family could trade for food for a week. Understanding the trauma and destruction of war is of vital importance.
Slava Ukraine = salvation for Ukraine.
My last comment. We are very close to Russia in Alaska. Would you feel the same if Putin got a bug up his a$$ and invaded Alaska. Are you freedom loving or not?

I full heartedly believe in the saying play stupid games win stupid prizes you guys were celebrating flying some drones into Moscow what did you expect what would have happened if Mexico was celebrating flying drones into Washington DC?😅😅😅 Trust me it would be on a scale of thousand times more than this and every person that voice of America knows this is true 🤡
