I've used the improved clinch knot for over 20 yrs. I like the speed of tying it and don't even have to look while tying it which is great in dark situations. Never lost a fish due to its performance.

Bro I'm just starting out fishing and never knew how to tie a knot, I have really hectic social anxiety and wouldn't even ask anyone for help but THANKS to YOU and you video bro I'm good now. I use a palomar for pretty much everything. Braid, mono, whatever. Palomar the world.😂

The trilene knot is just so awesome I'm surprised it's not more famous. The skipper of my fishing boat taught it to me as a deckie over 25 years ago and I've been using it ever since. It's just so quick and easy to tie it, and never slips. I've even tested it myself and it definitely holds more weight than any other. Try it and see. It's just a simple clinch knot but you start it with a double pass rather than just a single.

after a hiatus of 20 years from fishing( my sons left home and work is constant in the summer) I retired and took up fishing again. Had to learn knot tying all over again. The palomar knot has become a favorite.
