Race Simulator Cockpit with AccuForce Wheel, SimVibe, HPP Pedals, and Oculus Rift DK2

Cary drives the Skip Barber at Lime Rock in my rig, which is always a "work in progress". Note: there's no primary physical display at all. The PC boots to Virtual Desktop running on a Headless Ghost. In other words, everything is done in VR.

Good vid, you should definitely wear shoes when driving. You can brake way better and also have more grip when accelerating

Hey Todd, I have a question, at 0:37, do you know the actual name or part number for that hinge type of mount you're using for the angled support post you made? This 8020 set-up seems the most practical and compact setup I've come across so far. Also is it safe to assume that's 15 series 8020 you're using? Thanks.

I noticed you have the triangular transducers bolted on directly into the 80/20 chassis.

I wanted to ask you if you had to use a special mounting plate for the transducers or if you were able to directly bolt them into the 80/20. And also if you have any rattling sounds...

I have a 8 Ohm per channel amp, so those would not do for me because I think yours are 4 Ohm, but I am looking to change my mini-puck transducers because they rattle a lot and they are very loud, so the idea to be able to bolt something directly onto the 80/20 I think could dramatically reduce the rattling and the noise.

Greate rig project ! Ordered a Headless Ghost right after seeing your setup. A few questions May i ask what your screen setup look like, resulutions and also The use of v desktop and iracing for best graphic/fps whit out glitches?!

If you run sim experience as administrator and run obs as administrator, iracing will show up on obs while in rift. Also remember to make sure to run in 64bit mode for both. Running as administrator fixed the issue for me. Heard your comment about obs so figured I'd offer the solution

You have some cool equipment Todd. Do you miss the lack of peripheral vision in VR compared to the triples you used in another of your videos? The only vr racing experience I have had is using a Gear VR with VR Karts and I realise that it only has a FOV of 90 Degrees compared to the rifts 110 but the feeling of looking through ski goggles really dimmed any enthusiasm for a huge VR investment just yet.

Todd, a quick question about the VR headset.  I'm partially blind in my right eye (blind spot in the middle of my field of view), any opinion about whether the headset could still work for me?  I've never had the opportunity to try one.

hi Todd, would you be able to share design for your cockpit/ rig? with 80/20 material? i am sure the way you have it setup, there is no flexing even with Accuforce and HPP pedals? would also love your input on tacticle transducers, amplifiers, simvibe and how to get best immersion, chassis mode and/ or extension mode.

What speaker wire are you using? I like that its thicker and insulated like a normal cable
