Delta Flight Crew Helps Free Passenger Trapped Inside Plane Restroom

A Delta Airlines pilot was captured kicking and wrestling with an airplane restroom door to help free a man trapped inside during a flight from Utah to Louisiana in early December.

The trapped passenger, identified as Brent, ultimately delivered the kick that opened the door, footage shows.

The passenger’s wife, Rachel, filmed this video, which shows the pilot kicking the door while flight attendants pull.

Rachel said that her husband was trapped in the bathroom for approximately 35 minutes and tried to break down the door by kicking from the inside.

A Delta Airlines spokesperson told Newsweek, “We have been in contact with the customer following this situation with an offer of apology and are investigating the situation to better understand the root cause and make any changes, as needed, to address the matter going forward.”

This happened to me on the train from Silverton to Durango in Colorado a few years back. I had been hitting the bar car a bit and had a few too many screwdrivers. I went to the restroom and when I tried to leave, I pushed the door rather than pull it. It immediately jammed and wouldn't pull back so eventually they slipped me a screwdriver (wouldn't ya know it) through the small space that we could wedge open so I could take the door off the frame from the inside. Everyone cheered when I got out too! Please do me and this person a favor and always cheer when someone is freed from a restroom.

Well I guess Im not the only one that has been locked in a airplane restroom. Went on a family trip to Disney World back in 2002. I was like 12, had to go and couldn't get the door to open up. I thought in my mind I was gonna die. I wasn't gonna make a big scene, so it took awhile to get it open. Finally got out and my dad thought I got lost. Never been on a plane since after!! 😂
