Tattoos are more popular than ever. Your friends, family, coworkers, and people of all ages are getting inked, right? You might even be thinking about getting one yourself.
But there is something you should know first! But there is something that should be considered first.
One important question we should answer before getting a tattoo is, "Does the Bible say it’s okay?" “What does God say about it?”
Is it wrong to get a tattoo?

Reason # 1 … Point # 1 - God’s law forbids tattoos. God’s word...
When God made a covenant with the nation of Israel, He gave them His commandments and laws.
By following these laws, His people would serve as an example nation to the rest of the world (Deut. 4:5-6).
One of the laws God commanded was, "You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD."
The practice of tattooing, or imprinting marks on the body, was something the heathen and pagan nations around Israel were doing. But God clearly forbade His people from adopting any such custom.
But God clearly commanded His people to NOT follow these customs.
It is important to remember that God's laws determine what is sin, and what is not sin (1 John 3:4). His laws distinguish the clean from the unclean, and the holy, from profane (Lev. 10:10).
Therefore, God declared tattooing an unholy sinful practice that His people should avoid.
And even though this law was given to the ancient nation of Israel under the Old covenant, it reveals God’s perspective on the matter. And God makes clear that He does not change based on the cultural shifts of the times (Malachi 3:6, Heb. 13:8).
Also, God clearly condemns those who attempt to worship Him in any way with images or idols (Ex. 20:4-6; Deut. 5:8-10; 4:15-18, 23) [This comment seems out of place]

I recently saw a comment on a story about how many women are now getting tattoos. The man compared a woman getting a tattoo to putting a bumper sticker on a Ferrari. I had to laugh because that is an apt analogy! Ladies, you can't improve on your looks to us men, God made you just right, so please stay away from the tattoos! 😉👌😎

I only ever got one on my arm. I honestly can't stand the things, but I was young and foolish. Thankfully the tattoo I got was just a simple heart with my wife's name. Sadly, she died three months ago so now I have mixed feelings about the one I got.

I watched an episode of Joyce Meyer tell hundreds of thousands or Millions of ppl saying it was okay to get a tattoo because you are not getting it “for the dead.” She even said she thought about going out and getting one! My jaw hit the floor and I couldn’t believe she was going against God on this topic! SMH😳

I agree and have no body art. I cannot say that about most people I have come across. I knew not to do body art on myself, because of the Bible from a young man. I do not strive to be seen in that way or by other humans. I strive to be seen by God.

I realize that the Bible tells you not to get them. I don’t see the harm in getting a little one because after all, when I was 12 I got my ears pierced even though I really don’t wear earrings today. So it’s not the worst you can do, but this message is more for those heading towards holiness and not worldliness. Frankly I think it’s pretty disgusting where people poke holes in their body and put terrible looking graffiti on an otherwise beautiful young person.
