I have a fresh squadron ready for you to join! =rbYT2= 😊

And I made some small mistakes:

The 6.7 heavy tank SP cost in a full uptier is 100 SP not 110 SP (actually not sure if this is true)

Free Ace qualification does not require the crew level.

Also red turret ring does not affect traverse. My bad.

British and French players staring at the ammo section like it's witchcraft.

Small note about the ammo types, whereas APFSDS usually is the superior choise, there are some vehicles where due to low calibre and spall you might be actually better off using HEATFS. Such as for example the M41D

Small tip, you dont have to open the map itself, you can just simply hold down Alt and mark on the small minimap in the bottom right

Underrated tip that I don't hear mentioned a lot. Make sure the slots you use to grind aircraft in air battles corresponds to the slot you use for CAS in ground battles!

A tip on the ammo stowage in leopard 2 variants. If you bring 16 shells, there won’t be any ammo in the body. There’s space for 15 shells in the turret and 1 in the barrel when you start a game!

from a 5800 hour player, i highly recommend tank sim around the mid-high BRs (5.7-8.7). There's certain lineups (7.7-ish w/ maus, 8.0 ish with Strv 103, etc.) where some vehicles that are hard to enjoy in RB really shine. The Strv 103 for example is amazing at sniping, since you practically only face BR412D and such (APHEBC and such) which really struggle to pen Strv103. Combined with a LR, 4 second autoloaded reload it's really forgiving and a blast to play. Maus too has a similar situation, where your armour actually works really well and can easily juggle multiple enemies since sim matches are usually a lot smaller than RB.

TLDR: Play SIM ground more! You can basically guarantee yourself a full downtier if you pick from the higher BR vehicles of a certain bracket!

On battle maps it is more beneficial to defend and counter attack then to attack. Simply taking good spot and waiting for enemy team to overextend will most of the time get you easier win then going into enemy that does exactly that.

I think the most important takeaway is: He has over 5200 hours and yet somewhat lower level crews. This is one of the most p2w mechanics in this game. F2P crew leveling is somewhat super slow.

A quick tip for lower tier matches - you can use the distance to cap points which is displayed on screen as a "measuring stick" to better gauge sight distances. Especially if the enemy is on the cap.

Might be worth mentioning how important sound settings are, I've played on and off since 2012/13 and only recently got a decent headset and turn down most sound effects, apart from enemy engine noise. It feels like a massive advantage to knowing where your enemy is in any close quarter engagements.

You can also tell its a full uptier by the nuke plane when playing at 5.7 or 8.3. It'll appear at 6.7 and change to a higher tier one at 9.3

To add to your point about HEAT not going through objects. This is a much bigger hindrance than it initially sounds like. Also, not all objects in Warthunder are created equal so while you're doing mental calculations on if this bush will detonate your round or not, your target has lead down range already. It happens more than youd think.

For people wanting to know how many rounds to bring for different tanks, the War Thunder Wiki is a great source of information. It gives a picture for every tank showing which racks are emptied first, and whether the rounds disappear one-by-one, or in groups.

You should make a video specifically on situations where two tanks know each other are around a corner, and how to win that engagement. Such as baiting with your track then pivoting and shooting them, or popping smoke and using third person to see when your barrel moves and fire. As well as just side scraping to hopefully bait a shot that won't pen.

We cant deny that crew vitality is such a trolly and drastically (especially on soviet crew and german crews since they are either the most spread out or most cramped crews) important mechanic as well especially when aced, it lets the crews tank up so much damage especially from British apds or low tnt equivalent APHE from the post pen damage, at least that what i noticed and i been playing since late 2013s but thanks for making this guides, i am showing to my beginner friends cuz they cant stop asking me questions about the game while i am trying to sweat carry them in rb tank battles lol

A good practice to get into is not slamming on the breaks when you see an enemy, especially if they see you. When using german tanks like the panther or tiger they have excellent suspension. You can roll the tank by tapping the forward key repeatedly to keep the tank moving at a constant 9-14 mph speed. With a targeting maxed out you basically have a effective stabilizer. And if you miss you just floor it and run to cover, most people struggle going through a panthers turret when it’s moving

Important thing for people to think about in my opinion is what your first vehicle is in a match, do you wanna rush objective, creep the edges of the map, flank enemies or be that one guy everyone loves that spawns in SPAA to counter uptier helicopter players.

Seeing what map you're playing and which vehicle is best suited for the first push can make such a difference.
I always see my whole team spawn in T80BVMs and instantly die cuz they rush in vs a team of leopards, I'd rather flank around the side in a 2S25M using its mobility and spotting to gain a strong upper hand at the start.

Another tip would be looking at the enemy teams nations to know what you can expect to face.
This will also influence which vehicle you pick and how you want to move around the battlefield. Vs USA you really want to flank as their front is really strong, Germany aim for lower front hull or ammo etc.

Hope these help some people

Another good tip would be to not put a tank with higher BR in your lineup if you don't have anything that could back it up effectively. I've seen a lot of people playing their Tigers first only to get knocked out 3 minutes into match and taking a Pz III.
It may sound like too much work because you need to spade few vehicles but Arcade mode is very good for that.
