TikTok cooking, the only form of entertainment I need these days. Today, we take a look at a TikToker I found called cpage620, buckle up.

As a former cook that has cooked plenty of eggs in my day I have never heard a pan so hot not show any signs of cooking it's truly remarkable and she has been lifted to cooking nirvana as a goddess for achieving such a feat alongside Jack and Kay. We just need one more cook to complete the Mount Rushmore of internet cooks

I think I've solved the ghost sizzles. At 0:06 you can see some kind of liquid dotting the sides of the pan. Initially I thought it was oil, but it has no color and is arranged in a way that would be difficult to achieve without using a spray bottle. I propose that she cleans her pans off just before using them, and the sizzling we hear are the water droplets on the bottom of the pan evaporating as they come in direct contact with the burner.

I have a hypothesis. I believe the sizzling you are hearing is moisture on the bottom of the pan, like as though she washes it seconds before using it, and that layer of water is directly contacting the stove's element But the stove has to be on the lowest setting, because the pan isn't hot, but the element is still hot enough to boil the water directly in contact with it...

This hits too close to home. I'm genuinely hurt that she keeps using montreal steak seasoning. My mother, who is a terrific cook, always uses that exact seasoning 😭😭
