If this is not for beginners, I was thinking about this for my first. What would you recommend? Could you do a top 10 beginner solo wargames.

On a side note and is a reason that I haven’t started sooner, is the struggle I find to get space requirements and time to play, as often quotes how long for a full campaign. For me ideally an couple of hours.

Another informative and insightful review, thank you for posting it. The actual invasion of Salerno turned out to be far more difficult than the Allies planned for, especially given the German counterattack. And it does seem that the game, from what I understand of plays I have seen thus far (my copy just arrived here a few days ago), reflects those problems quite well. But from what I gather from your comments, is it fair to say that you found the landing as depicted in the game to be easier than it was historically?
