I'm a dingus, this was to show an example, LOL! I'm hiding the view of the effect until I hit apply, and saving the first Decimations into files in case of a crash, then opening the lower polys to edit from. Think it's working! :)

It's nice to see you're still being responsive in the comments for this video!
I seem to be having a problem, as I try to sub-divide with my object selected in object mode, the faces are not reducing at all and there's no preview loading. the face count is about 9, 500 and no matter how much I move the slider and wait, it never goes down?

This was very useful even if it's not the same version! It cut the faces in two! Thank you!

it's on 2 now but my file is still 579MB takes 2 hours or so to calc - trying to find how you saved it if I need click something but you didn't show

The program that I"ve always been using, 3D Builder also has a good answer to this. I managed to get that file down to a few Kb
Anyway got multiple options now with Blender and 3D Builder

:')
some people don't know they're way all around blender

uhh i dont know why, but this doesnt seem to help, when i increase un-subdivide iterations it just does nothing, and the number of tris is the same
do i need to select the faces or what?

Thanks for this tutorial. Trying to reconstruct subdivision, similar like in ZBrush. In my case the Decimate Modifier works well on the mesh, but it messes up the UV's at the places where seams are. Is there any way to avoid this bug? ZBrush seems to handle reconstructions with no problem.

I did it, and now the reflection is bothering me, is showing the polygons very shamelessly
Any way that the reflection don't really show up that much the polygons?
