A Difficult Game About Climbing is a challenging climbing game inspired by Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy (one of my all-time favorites).

Watch out for slippery surfaces and other hazards as you make your way towards the peak. Eternal glory and a wonderful gift awaits all climbers who manage to reach the top!

I personally feel that this genre of games has been severely underserved and sold short with games that focus mainly on being frustrating rather than proposing a fun, interesting, simple yet real challenge. With this in mind, I have made my best effort to create a unique and memorable experience, hoping to contribute to the spirit of a "Foddian Type" game genre.

This is the first Getting Over It inspired game that gets close to capturing the essence of what made that game fun in my opinion. The fast paced momentum bits looked really good. I'm hopeful for this one.

I love how games inspired by Getting Over It have basically become their own subgenre. I don't think Bennet Foddy ever intended to have such a large influence on the design of indie platformers but I'm here for it.

I've been waiting for YEARS for a game inspired by “Getting Over It” to release, at the point that I wanted to make a game inspired by Getting Over It! But I just didn't know how to innovate, great to see that someone also had this idea!

Holy! This looks soo good! Not only visually, but even the sound effects are really good! The best part is how weight factors with your decision to commit a jump! Like, you know if you try jumping across and then grabbing something, it then shows a pull from the weight of your character that can inevitably end a run! Good stuff.

What's crazy that I kind of love is how it's inspired by Foddy's game "Getting Over It" and Foddy also made "Girp" which is pretty much the same premise of Getting Over It, in 2011 in Flash.

And seeing how your game starts, I think you already knew that and were shooting precisely for that. I can respect it!

I went into this thinking "Let's critique this getting over it clone", but despite the same relatively grungy look, it seems fresh and unique! I'm excited to fall in the water over and over again.

Edit: I have no clue why the replies are all arguing with each other about the style. Personally, I like the fact that it maintains Bennett Foddy's style, it feels like a fan-made sequel. The developer even called it a "Foddian style" game.
