[TAS] A Difficult Game About Climbing in 2m29s (OUTDATED)

This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS). It was not played live. I made a tool for the game that allows me to create savestate, slow down the game, advance frame by frame, ...

I implemented a replay system around all that, and everything put together resulted in this run! This is not perfect, this is far from being fully optimized, but this is a first step towards a good idea of how the game can be done if played perfectly!

I think my savestate system messes up the speed of the hands/body, so this is entirely possible that this run is actually not possible on the game, so it might not be a legit TAS. But even if it isn't, it's pretty close to what's really possible (there's no like speed boost, or cheat whatsoever).

I hope you enjoy!

Imagine spending days climbing mount Everest and finally climbing to the top, and when you look down you see the human spider just boosting his way up the mountain at top speed.

This TAS guy is pretty good getting WRs in every game.

Takes a deep breath and focuses*
"Ok, time to climb this mountain.."
Starts violently skittering up like a spider*

It's hilarious how much the movements and sound remind of a bug

Imagine being on the top of a mountain and seeing him coming towards you. Absolutely terrifying.

It's always cool seeing how TAS lines differ from WR lines, the way they take all these high-risk routes to save time. In this case, I feel like the TAS is actually playing the game MORE as-intended in several areas compared to speed runners, like how it grabs the breifs on the clothesline at 1:03 and declines the concrete pillar "shortcut" at 1:30.

The craziest thing about this is that it's not even fully optimized in a few places. A preposterously fast time, and it's not even as far as it can go. That is amazing to me.

This is so sick! It's been a wild ride watching you code this live, but it was worth it in the end <3

This is the first piece of content I consumed about the game and that very much throws off how hard this looks.

Read the description of the video: "This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS). It was not played live." For people thinking that this is the new speedrun record, it is not. This is just an entertaining video.

TAS, it seems like you somehow manage to master every game worth playing! Love what you do, keep at it!
