Medical tourism is a massive thing in Mexico for Americans

The funny thing is that customs limits your ability to bring medicine over because the United States looks after corporations not the US citizens. Most medications now are made in Mexico so they're the exact same thing, but to ensure that the pharmaceutical companies maximize their profits, the United States customs department has a duty to make sure that you do not bring too much medicine in from Mexico

I went to Mexico in 2022. We did a lot of medical stuff while there like dentistry and buying medication. We bought a bunch of Ivermectin in case we felt we needed it and although we researched buying medication and any medications we couldn't bring back I had no trouble with any of it. I told US customs I had bought a bunch of Ivermectin and she just asked me how many and I said a dozen packages and she just waved me through. Don't feel worried about buying medication in Mexico there is plenty of information about what you can and cannot do. Most is ok. Just be honest with customs if they ask.

Wife who was in her late 50s needed a medication for gastroparesis that was pulled/severely regulated from distribution by the FDA in United States due to it causing medical issues in nursing infants if their mothers used it and the limited pharmacies that they allowed to carry It were real expensive. Her doctor wrote a prescription for it so she could get it through mail order from a legitimate Canadian pharmacy and her cost was around $30 US 430 day supply so one dollar a pill. We did find a compounding pharmacy that could make it, but going through Canada was cheaper.

Thanks for the price comparison of medications. Those same medications 💊 and others are less expensive in every country, only U.S. customers pay ridiculous prices

Cialis is affordable with telemedicine companies. 90pills of 5mg is about $115

I'm sure you have something like this in the US, In mexico there's regulations on how expensive medicine can get so is not purely based in demand and offer, even if they're imports. You can check the maximum price allowed in each package, its illegal to sell above those prices. And as far as I know unless they are labelled as a cosmetic those are tax deductible for citizens.

CostPlus sells the same number of Cialis in the same dose for $12.94 in the states. Even in Mexico it's *NOT JUSTIFIED* Also generics are the exact same drug. Comparing name brand to generic is apples to apples

Medications in Mexico used to be cheaper. After Trump renegotiated nafta the pharma companies lobbied to raise the prices in Mexico as well. So in countries not under nafta the prices may be even cheaper.
