I have been testing hard neck garlic for over 12 years and I love different Russian varieties. I planted most cloves in the fall, then tried planting some in the winter and have some growing from bulbils.

A really interesting and useful video. This year I had a total garlic fail. Small bulbs that didn't split. Planted in the autumn but we didn't have much in the way of freezing weather. It is so frustrating but there's always another year to try :)

I don't have an outdoors to plant garlic. I very much want to plant them. How can I plant them successfully indoors. I do have a porch that gets very hot afternoon sun until sundown. Thank you!!

Interesting! I was wondering how those winter planted cloves would turn out. If I ever grow from bulbils I will do the same as you, leave them in place until they form divided bulbs.
