Flown in and out of LBA many times in the past, including just after the infamous Michael Fish "no hurricane" weather. Flight on a Fokker Friendship from Dublin, landing on 32. I was sat in the rearmost-but-one starboard window seat and the crosswinds were so high we were less than 20 seconds from landing and I was still looking directly down the runway, there was so much yaw! The plane was bucking and rocking like a good 'un with the turbulence too. The pilot (Welsh guy from Cardiff) did a superbly smooth landing, turning, flaring and landing in one fluid move as though there was no crosswind at all!

Also watched the Air France Concorde land there in a 35-40 knot cross wind with a touch and go for the first pass (so the TV guys reporting had better light, then came around for a beautiful landing. Shame BA didn't have the bottle to do it, but there again, they were probably bricking it knowing about the cemetery right at the end of 32! LOL 😱

Nice plane, great video, beautiful, uneventful landing and only 8 knot wind!? Unheard of at LBA. 😎😁

When on your PPL, with little GA planes, why is it that you don’t need to get type ratings on different airplanes? For example, you are allowed to fly a Cessna 172 even though you trained in a PA28 (for example again, cause idk what you trained in lol) 😆

It was very convenient for you to land on 14, runway 32 is mostly used.
