Leaf Spring Life

Fixing the front leaf spring hangers on Trailmater. After years and years of abuse I've finally got sick of having to replace bushings every couple months from the mounting holes being worn out. We cut out some new mounts on the plasma table and installed them. Then had a quick tow job where they needed a severely overloaded trailer moved to a safer place to repair it. Then back to finishing the repairs on the trucks. We pulled it up on our 'flex ramp' to test it and we are happy with the results. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Salt Lake Offroad Expo is February 24th and 25th come say hi if you are in the area.

Tow Truck Olympics will be an exhibition of Rory and TrailMater teaching the other competitors some cool tricks of the trade ;) Should be fun to watch!!

I know exactly why you do your own repairs but I think it would be hilarious to have you take Trail Mater into a dealership and ask them to change the oil or maybe rotate the tires. I would love to see the look on their face!

🤣🤣Nearly shot breakfast out my nose at the Plumber Cam (13:53). You guys never fail to make me laugh.

That trailer is toast. Severely overloaded and it paid the price as a result. "You're going to need a new trailer" is the truth.

Trail Mater takes a lot of abuse. That frozen truck rescue was brutal 😲 Take good care of her 👍 👌

Rory is good at job site repairs because he practices them in the shop !
If Rory does not know what he is doing, he sure has me fooled.

Can't explain it. About 200 years ago, when I watched Johnny Carson I would find myself smiling. He had not told a joke, just talking. The same thing, here watching you guys work on the truck made me smile. Thanks

I think that the Trail Mater motto is along the lines of "the impossible we do straight away, miracle just take a little longer".
Excellent work as always.

Hi ya Rory. I'm from Kent, south east England, UK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I've travelled and worked all over Europe in my time, but I've never been to the USA yet. The nearest I've been to your homeland was a family wedding in the Dominican Republic 16 yrs ago. But a visit to the USA has always been on my bucket list, and I'll make it happen one day for sure. I found your channel within hours of stumbling across the MORR channel about 18 months ago. And I've been a avid viewer of both channels ever since. I've always known I'm destined to visit America one day, but your fantastic country is so vast that i couldn't decide which state i wanted to visit the most...? But I found the answer when I became hooked on yours and Matts channels. Utah is where I want to visit. I got so engrossed in Utah that I couldn't stop researching stuff on google. I even enjoy using google earth to fly about and have a look at Utah. I knew Utah was a big state, but I needed a size reference. So I difference between Utah and the UK". Unbelievable Rory...! I know how big the UK is cos I've worked and travelled all over it from head to toe over the years. And I now fully understand how vast Utah is cos its approx 90% of the size of the entire UK..!! That's a big state Rory. The vast moon like dessert terrains that you boys operate in is unlike anything we have in the UK. I was born in the 60's and my dear old mother raised me on cowboy and western movies. Whenever I watch your videos they always trigger happy memories of my mother cos she loved her cowboy movies and her western music. And she instilled your culture and your music into me. I'm still a big fan of the spaghetti westerns and country and western music . Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Johnny Cash etc. And without doubt, your offroad wrecker 'Trailmater', is my favourite truck out of all the channels I watch. The Morrvair is a lovely looking bit of kit, but in my eyes it's not a patch on the beastly beauty and monstrous growling sound of your 'Trailmater'. A long time ago I watched one of your videos where you said people had suggested you maybe smarten up the 'battle scarred' cab on Trailmater...? And when you explained to us all your reasons for not wanting her to look 'straight and shiny' etc, I totally understood what you meant and also why. I agree with you Rory, don't ever change anything on Trailmater. Her body work perfectly matches the deep menacing growl she let's out when you give her a free reign. A beauty and a beast all rolled into one. We don't have offroad vehicles like yours in the UK. We have got a few man made offroad courses and clubs etc, but our offroad vehicles are nothing like the monsters you boys build and use in the states. Ours are mostly slightly adapted range rover defenders and discoveries. I've never done any pleasure offroading myself Rory, and the nearest thing I've ever owned that came anywhere near to being capable of handling a bit of offroad terrain was a year 2011 Mitsubishi Barbarian L200 pick up truck. It was a 2.5 litre diesel turbo and my particular model came in a choice of two different BHP size engines. Mine was the higher BHP version. I loved that truck Rory. It was the crew cab version with full leather interior. 6 speed manual gear box. 4WD selector. And hard bouncy leaf springs. I didn't wrap it up in cotton wool though. Just like you and your Trailmater, I used it in the way it was designed and built to be used. It had dents and scrapes on every panel, and it was always dirty looking, but that's the way I liked it. The only thing I used to do when it was empty, was chuck 4 x bags of sand in the back to add a bit of weight on the leaf springs. Otherwise I would be driving down a tarmac road, ....drive over a matchstick, ....and my head would nearly hit the ceiling with the jolt from the rear springs 😆! But unfortunately Rory, Mitsubishi trucks like my faithful Barbarian are a highly sought after vehicle for thieves in the UK. I woke up one morning and it was gone. And to make matters worse, just as I thought I was getting over the heartache of losing my pride and joy, my wife rang me at work with some more devastating news...? Purely by mistake, we'd forgotten to renew the insurance. I remember getting the email for renewal from my insurance company, but I was busy at the time and I also remember thinking to myself..." I'll sort that out later". But of course, I forgot about it. So not only have I never seen my truck since that fateful morning, I couldn't claim on the insurance either. Lesson learned. One day I would like to get another Barbarian, ...deliberately put a few dents in the body work, and take the doors off in honour of your scarily powerful Trailmater. Long story Rory. I hope you get to read it though mate. Great channel. Keep up the good work. All the best from Walter in the UK

The Wrecker Games is going to be like a class of recruits being instructed by a Gunny fresh from his 8th tour complete with beard and Oakley. Even the brass wants to salute as he walks past... Fantastic as always!!!

Gotta love the condition of trailers rolling down the highway next to us. That guy deserved a ticket. There's no way he wasn't very overloaded.
