I spent the first 40 years of my life going to Lavenham for Christmas every year as my grandmother lived in the Market Square next to the Guildhall. As you visualised, it was the most magical place at Christmas time. I had my 21st birthday party in the Guildhall. Loved your beautiful video which has brought back may wonderful and happy memories.

Our English towns and villages are so special, as are the people who live in them. They are under serious threat from developers and councils all over England who are forcing new-build estates in their thousands. I think the turndown in fortunes was the saving of the town. With no money, they didn't have the wear withal to tear down or remodel! Therefore, it has remained a magical place! How wonderful to be able to walk the streets and see really lived in houses. There's a warmth there that you can not find in a housing development!
