Glad to see someone in this world still has an eye and a concern for proper work. I don’t know how a guy could walk away from that ridiculous, “stuffed” drainpipe arrangement. I’m surprised he didn’t install the gutter trough upside down on the roof edge.

How can you keep water from leaking from the corrugated pipe when you tie it to the solid pipe?

Looks great, but it looked like the elbow was lower than the drain line. Is it ok to have a trap like that? Thanks

Other than looks it would seem that the 45 degree slant they had would be less restriction in a torrential downpour than a 90 degree at the bottom. Did I miss something ?

How is the homeowner supposed to get to the pipe for cleanout/maintenance? I've seen downspouts that feed the adapter into a Y with the side opening normally capped off. To clean or inspect the cap is removed. I'm starting to deal with problems in my newly purchased home near Tampa and have two downspouts leading straight down into 4" corrugated pipe. Looks nice, but both are solidly blocked and I haven't found the outlets yet so I need to start at the house end. And the only way I've found to get access to the pipe is to drill out the rivets holding the downspout to the wall straps and push the whole thing sideways.

How do you unclog at the joint in that exact setup?

Would like to see a clean out somewhere in that assembly.

@appledrains Where can I buy that adapter (the 2 pieces) in South FL?

I wish the 4" adapters were flush to one side like the 6" adapters - it would make for much neater, flush and secure connections without having to pry your downspout off the wall to connect.

Hey Chuck, what do you think about letting the rainwater that comes from your roof go into a french drain that runs into the garden? Will the garden be better watered or will the rainwater that rains in the garden just seep away faster? Also I would like to know if its any good idea at all.

Hi Chuck, how do you easily remove the adapter if you need to clean the line?
