Pat, I was debt free before my Cancer diagnosis in 2021. I went through traditional treatment as well as Integrative medicine treatments. Of course alternative treatments are not covered at all. There is really only one solution.... get the corruption, collusion, and conflict of interest out of our government. As long as you allow our government agencies, government employees and elected officials to profit and benefit, you won't fix the problems. Coming up with solutions to the problems is easy breezy, it's getting the solutions implemented that is next to impossible.

What's more shocking is how food intolerance is the cause for many of these conditions (and the medical field won't acknowledge this). I was about to be moved from a DMARD to a biologic (most likely Humira) and I did a hardcore elimination diet and my joint issues almost cleared up. I was able to close my hands in a tight fist in about six months. For the most part, I could only partially close my hands. I am doing carnivore now and my psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis is probably 95% gone now. I am pushed more to drugs than this lifestyle by doctors. I've had these conditions for 35 years so it's not some weird remission going down. It's the garbage food.

A great solution is to find a functional medicine doctor and heal yourself through proper nutrition diet and exercise. A lot of these diseases are absolutely curable without pharmaceuticals. Developing self discipline is tough but it’s a lot cheaper!

All I can say that makes sense to me is that when the US tax payers are flipping the research bill the longest they should have the patent is 5 years... Or, they have to sell it to US citizens at the cheapest price they sell to foreign governments.

I lost everything I owned due to chronic illness and medical bills. I lost my home, rental properties, everything I ever worked for and ended up nearly homeless, cough surfing as a very sick woman. I am 59 years old and now renting and at my age and in my condition I will never be able to recover financially and am now a renter for life. My friend in Holland went through the same exact thing at an even older age and she lost nothing. Her medical care was covered, every penny. I am a veteran and I don't feel the same about the country I love so much anymore.

You did a good job on the subject, as a former employee who worked high up in a big pharm. There is another side to this, involving big pharm lobbying to doctors to get their patients to take the new drugs. Not to mention asking for a generic vs brand names. I have seen big pharm test their drugs overseas for free to 3 world countries to collect data than present the data to the FDA to get an accelerated approval and charge hard working people for huge profits. Big pharm see people as consumers and not patients.
