In this video, I describe the three types of cardiac tissue, explain the cardiac conduction system piece by piece, then map out what is happening in the heart during each stage of an electrocardiogram. The video covers these structures: sinoatrial (SA) node, internodal pathway, interatrial pathway, atrioventricular (AV) node, atrioventricular bundle (bundle of His), bundle branches, Purkinje fibers, P wave, PR interval, QRS complex, ST interval, T wave, ventricular contraction, atrial contraction, and heart sounds.

FYI for any students on here. The sound is from blood hitting the valves/turbulent flow, not from the valves actually shutting.

Good video. It's important to emphasise that ACG doesn't show muscle contraction or pressure change in the chambers at all.

You said all blood is red, never blue. So are the blue things we see in out arm and hand un-oxygenated blood in veins? Also is the noon-conductive fibrous tissue only in a band...or is it through out the entire heart?

By the way, have you ever heard of piezoelectricity! I believe that when the fetal nervous system is formed, that is what starts the SA node. What do you think? That is my personal theory. Thanks for your knowledge! ❤
