Just playing the outtakes cd from the 2cd set .. wow couldn’t be happier…
The remix is fantastic.. a little loud..
but amazing what they have achieved here.. it’s definitely still Revolver ..only with 2022 bells and whistles..sounds so fresh…
Will one day hope to buy the full lp set …till then 2 cd is great bang for your
English pounds …

I preordered this on Amazon-Japan. The “Japanese” version ordered comes with a Japanese insert that includes translated lyrics. It’s now sold out and being flipped by third-party sellers on Amazon for close to 500 bucks. There appear to be more copies of the standard “worldwide” edition out there, but those who are holding out for the price to drop… its a gamble.

Many thanks Andrew. As thorough as ever. Can't wait to pick my vinyl set up tomorrow from my favourite independent record shop, Vintage and Vinyl in Folkestone. Nice to see a quality deck there. Looks like a Rega? My trusty Linn Sondek LP12 is set to reveal the magic. Incidentally, I did get inner groove distortion on the mono Rain from the 2014 box, so hoping for better this time.

Nice review! I got my vinyl boxset last Friday, and have listened several times I love the new remix; it puts the 'punch' back into a stereo Revolver that the original couldn't manage with its horrible hard panned vocals/instruments....It's a whole new beast!
The mono LP sounds a little 'brighter' than the 2014 LP, and the original 60s mono pressings; it seems to have a bit more life to it, which I love. 💕
I also love that so much attention to detail was used with this release; all the correct PMC/PCS, and XEX/YEX codes are present and correct, plus the fact that we now have the 'Sold In UK...' text on the records; just as it was when they first came out! 😊
The only slight irritation is that all the care to reproduce the record labels so accurately, they didn't do the LP flipbacks on the covers of the stereo and mono covers... 😞 Never mind, I love it as it is, and am seriously considering the CDS boxset as well now, just have it I guess!! 😆

Even though a 7-incher is more faithful to the 60's Parlophone vibe, I still wish the 5th disc was a 12-inch EP. I'm absolutely not a fan of odd-shaped items packed inside a vinyl box set.

I just got my set and the one thing you didn't mention was, the 7" EP is the heaviest lump of 7" vinyl that I have ever come across.

Only 12 months ago, Giles Martin was telling everyone the technology wasn't quite ready yet to do proper justice to Revolver. 12 months later we get all this. No, this project has clearly been in the works for some time longer than what we've been led to believe me thinks.

I think they(Apple/Calderstone) missed an opportunity with both Vinyl and CD to do a super Uber set with both CDs and Vinyl and much more Schwag. Like A Revolver Out Now Poster, A Beatles butcher cover poster all the alternate Robert Whitaker pictures and maybe the Beatles live in Japan cd/DVD/Blue Ray.
