Zero loosing was a good thing for him. It allows him a bigger incentive to improve and it doesn't affect his health like keeping the win streak. Now he doesn't have to worry about his win streak and can only worry about placing high in a tournament. Live long scarf army.

This is the best Smash advice I've ever heard. Adapting to your opponent mid-battle and focusing on your opponent so you can read their movements seems like the best things you can do. Good stuff! Thanks ZeRo!

This was seriously good advice. I remember improving significantly when I started watching my opponent's character instead of my own; something that requires mastery and comfort with your own character's movement. A lot of less experienced players, and a lot of people on FG clearly don't pay close attention to that sort of thing, which makes sense. They don't have the comfort and mastery of movement with their character that would allow them to take their eyes off what they're doing.

In fact, I would propose that excessive rolling, or rather, relying on rolling as a means of movement, results in a lack of micro-observation of your opponent. It's understandable, though. A roll safely moves you a set distance in a set time, wheras running involves acceleration and deceleration that is much more character-dependent. It also forces you to take responsibility for your character's position at any given time, instead of pressing a single input and having the game do it for you; albeit at the obvious risk of being heavily punished. Therefore, an individual who has not mastered/learned the movement/approach options of a character is more likely to roll for the pure and simple reason that it simplifies movement for them; not necessarily just because they find rolling to be a catch-all way to avoid damage on the laggy FG or against opponents with low reaction times. Thus, I conclude that the roll rate of a player directly correlates with their lack of mastery of a character, as well as with the likelihood that they are watching themselves (to gauge distances before and after the roll) instead of their opponent. Ergo, said player's roll rate negatively correlates with their skill and performance as a player. Of course, this ignores instances of people who don't know how to/refuse to roll as outliers.

But that's just a theory.

So a lot of people have been wondering, (Or at least me) is Zelda really the worst character in smash 4?

You should make a video about picking your main. I've seen a lot of people ask that question it would be nice to hear it from ZeRo.

Thanks to ZeRo, I just overcame a massive obstacle that was making me lose every match against even normal players: watching my opponent. I always watched little z's montages and his reads and punishes and I kept saying to myself 'I want to do that!' now, I can. Thank you, ZeRo. Stand proud as the king of Sm4sh.

In regards to your first point, the auto pilot thingey, I find it really helpful to keep my controller in my line of sight while playing. It makes me realize every time I hit a button that I shouldn't have, such as when I spot dodge or roll out of habits. It has helped me to get rid of a couple of bad habits like that.

This video was really informative and helpful, ZeRo. Maybe consider making this a series? Me and my friends love it because it's broad and so it's useful to all of us.

What the hell man why are half the comments about Zero losing to Nairo? Is anyone forgetting Big House where he won 2 GF sets against him? Does that mean Nairo got bodied? Hell no, leave Zero alone

Thanks so much for these tips! I've noticed a lot of these problems about myself lately, and although I'm sure fixing them won't instantly improve my game (only practice can do that, ) they'll certainly give me a push that I need. Keep being awesome!

This is the most helpful video I have ever seen for competitive play personally. I have always had trouble with auto mode so now I know that I just need to really set my mind to it and focus up.

ZeRo, your videos are amazing! You've really been a great inspiration to me: you've helped me strive towards my becoming great at Smash 4 and Project M.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one: 100s of people are more than likely inspired by you!

I really love your fun, happy attitude, and I hate that you had to experience what you did at Big House 2015 (other than the winning part). I really hope you have success in your future goals!

Please keep doing what you're doing, again, AMAZING videos! Stay awesome, dude!
