Ha, truth, but it's not so much college admissions as it is saving thousands of dollars by having the option to opt out of college courses in the future, if you pass.

I mean, I still want high AP scores so I can get college credit. Its not all about getting into colleges, but also about how many opportunities you will have there.

I’m a junior in Electrical Engineering in college and I failed every ap test I took. It’s no big deal, taking chemistry was terrible, but I’m really glad I took calculus and physics again. I did really well in the classes and really solidified my knowledge for the higher level courses. Don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t do well on your ap exams :).

but this isn't that true. You're sugar coating the fact that if you do well on your AP exam it will allow you to earn credit and potentially skip an intro class in college making your freshmen year easier. For AP bio for example, if you get a 4 or 5 you can skip the intro class in most colleges. Getting a good AP score is especially for those of lower income because we can pay for less classes.

I'm so glad I found this, this makes me feel a lot better about my upcoming exams. A lot of stuff has happened in my personal life and studying is just that much harder, especially when I'm trying to balance mental health, and exams added to the stress. I'm still gonna try to study but I won't beat myself up about not doing enough. Thanks for this!

College student here. AP tests can save you a ton of time if you get good enough scores. They allow you to skip whole classes which makes a big difference in how much free time you have. Yeah AP tests may not be super helpful for getting into college, but once you're in college, you won't regret not having to take a lot of extra classes.

As someone who just graduated university and worked in an advising office, AP tests are extremely helpful if you want to waive some of your classes (usually General Education classes) but are NEVER necessary. They can allow you to take some extra classes that interest you so you can pursue a second major or a minor, certificate, or just for fun. You worked hard to take that AP test and that is an accomplishment in itself! ❤️
