I’m so glad she posted this because I feel like with online classes and doing dance at home we can forget technique, and to correct ourselves

The head thing is sooo true. We weren't taught very often to use our heads when I danced a long time ago.... but it makes such a difference and you can't unsee it when you are aware of this in dancers..

1- Pull up (back, torse): to gain stability and even a more professional look.
2- Port de bras: Practice the positions in front of a mirror and try to connect each position while dancing so it looks like dancing, not doing ballet steps only.
3- Same as 2, dance with your head. In adagio, etc.
4-Plié.
5-Practice your variation a couples time in a row in order to handle the cardio.
6- Turnout (idk how to explain just watch the end of the video lol)

You should do a video of trying the worst reviewed products on discount dance!

finally seeing someone talk about "tucking" and it's so relieving to see someone else trying to correct it!

I watched this video when it first came out, and I saw someone comment a tip about thinking of all the bones in your body relaxing and dropping to her ground whilst the muscles lift up. I have used this tip ever since and it has been so incredible. It’s a strange concept but I always have perfect balance whether it’s on flat or pointe. So if you are the person who commented this, you are a life saver

One of my ballet teachers would tell us to imagine that someone was pulling a hair on the very top of your head to pull up and maintain posture. Honestly pulling up helps so so much. Also thank you for this video I’ve been taking class via zoom and it’s just not the same. This’ll help me remember certain things technique-wise and allow me to feel less floppy :) Thank youuuu

I started dancing this year, my teacher told me that I have lots of potential but if I work hard I can become professional within two years. I'm almost fifteen, and I feel really proud of myself because I never danced before in my life, so if I do become professional I will be so happy, because dancing is basically my life

Another way of trying to pull up is like imagine your bones are drilling down to the ground and your muscles are getting pulled up, it’ll help with your balance so much. Not only that but if youre standing on one leg during tendu, adage, or whatever you’re doing, NEVER sit on the leg you’ll look super short and try to keep your weight off of your hips and imagine your hips are going up into your armpits 😂😂😂 that’s the best way I can explain it

these are AMAZING tips Mackenzie. thank you!! i've been doing ballet for 13 years and appreciate these so much! sometimes when teachers yell that one correction like close your ribs or engage your shoulders, it can be hard to know exactly what they actually mean 😂 you clearly know your stuff and you're a beautiful dancer 💗

Can you make a video on stretches to do to get a little bit of hyperextension (like enough to make your legs look really pretty when dancing on pointe). I've heard that it's good for dancers to have a little bit of hyperextension, and I have none.

Also, how can I get higher arches/ flexible ankles?

Just wanted to tell you to keep up the great work! I have studied ballet forever and you have already figured out so many typical mistakes at such a young age! And best of all you are using your discoveries and knowledge to help so many other dancers 💗 Stay sweet and adorable!

This was really helpful. Whenever I'm dancing, I'm constantly wondering why I'm wobbly, or can't get higher extensions, etc. This will really help me focus on a few things, and improve a lot more overall

I heard somewhere that if you focus on your ground leg while extending the other leg, it goes a lot higher less painfully.
