What your father is offering you and us is a very straight and sensible evaluation of the current situation again. Autumn and Winter are usually the periods to improve mileage, to do strength and stability work and to bust up your oxygen uptake level (what your father describes as strength orientated mile repeats). These are not the workouts that make you faster on your next mile competition, but they improve the basic qualities you need before doing the specific workouts to prepare for a real fast mile.

Resistance band work is legit, I had some Achilles issues during my junior year of college and did a ton of resistance band work and ankle mobility and it helped so much to just build up supporting strength to help heal.

Wow I think this video was just meant to be. Today was the first day that I had to run on a treadmill in months and I was really unmotivated and I was actually considering skipping a day of training. However, I saw this video you posted and it just gave me the motivation that I need to get through the run. Thank you so much

Hey Spence, pro cooking tip: You can add collagen to your food to make it thicken up. If you have a sauce or something in your meal you can add collagen to make it thicker. Just shooting out the idea that you might wanna incorporate some type of meal that you can add collagen into so that you won't have to taste it.
