How To Replace A Candle Wick

Показать описание
In this video we replace a candle wick. Call it a "wickectomy".

Why replace your wick? Any candles that fail your performance or safety tests because of the wick aren't sufficient to be sold, but can still be salvaged and "retried" with a new wick size.

You may also employ this strategy when you're searching for the right wick in a new candle design - just test until the wick fails and swap it out with another!

Candle making comes down to testing and testing again - using this technique allows you to increase your testing speed and iterations without tossing out a bunch of failed candles.

You can even use this method to breath new life into candles with improperly sized wicks so they can burn safely in your home!

can someone please answer this question🙏
I am starting my candle business soon and I`ve watched the candle testing video so I was wondering if my candle passes the testing I should do this method to replace my wick and sell it? or when I done testing my candle I should again make another candle using the same process ?

This is fantastic :) Does the new wick stay in place given that the surface of the jar cannot be cleaned in this process?

When you make a candle, does the wick need to be glued to the bottom?

One can also heat the candle in an oven at 250F for 10 minutes to fully liquify the wax in the final stage

Great videos! Can you also make a video of how to make a wickless candle and then adding the wick to test and find the correct size?
