iPhone 16 Charging Speed IS A LIE!

The rumor about all of the new Apple iPhone 16 models being capable of charging at up to 45W, is a complete lie and has been tested and debunked. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, IPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, do not have 45 watt charging and the Pro series still tops out at about 30W.

Apple never promoted 45W wired charging to begin with. They only promoted 25W wireless.

The confusion comes from that the fact that the iPhone will use more wattage to maintain the 30W when you’re using the phone while charging. But it will never charge past 30W speeds.

You’re 100% correct. I thought 15 series charged at 20 watt, 16 series max of 30 watts. With the new MagSafe puck I believe that will charge faster than the older pucks, but not ny much and that needs the 30 watt adapter. Thanks for all the research and work. I just think companies like Google are Apple need to just start using the newer technology and let the charging stay consistent throughout the charging process. Probably drop about 30 minutes off what they are currently doing now. I'd be respectable at 1 hour to maybe 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I tried to use the iPhone 15plus and honestly iPhone charging in general is disgustingly slow. went back to my 68 watt with a basic Motorola phone

if you use the power z you can see that the iphone is charging at pd 3.0 45w but it cannot run that high same with android phones with 67w charging only goes a average of 20w it just when the iphone is under extreme conditions with a app that uses a lot of power then the iphone can theriotically pull 45 watts of speed out of the charger to maintain charging speeds

I saw somewhere that 45w was achievable if the person was charging whilst playing an intensive game.
The charging speeds of the latest iPhones wouldn’t be that bad if they didn’t throttle it so badly towards the end. I’ve reverted back to overnight charging because waiting 2h for a full charge is just ridiculous but at least now I don’t even care anymore. The top ups are quick enough if I ever need them.

Faster charging comes at a cost, heat. Heat reduces overall longevity of the battery. So you might get faster charging but will have faster battery degradation.

Great content. And this is why I'm a Samsung knight. There straight forward, example, AI, Samsung said it's free until the end of 2025. They didn't hide it. Now, how that works out who knows. 45w charging is 45w charging, when samsung says your phone comes with AI, it comes with AI, not 6 months down the road, or through a beta. Even google lies.
