Due to popular demand i made a short harkonnen arena video with my own sort of subtitles, its hard to understand here, even when its more clear, this was the hardest to understand, cause of the chants, cheering and music.

What do you think?

Thanks for watching again.

The harkonnen arena announcer is the equivalent of the sardukar throat singer for part 2. It has its own mini fandom.

It's a little detail but I like that they pronounce names differently (and most likely write them differently too). Like Harkonnen being Haquin. Meanwhile we see later that they pronounce Atreidis right, showing that it's a native/foreign word, so the pronounciation is correct.

Man, i love the Harkonnen language so much in this movie. Agressive and imponent in a way i never seen before. Truly an awesome work from David J Peterson

I love how Villeneuve is basically making his childhood sci-fi fantasies a reality in a blockbuster

Love the music when the door opens for Feyd. Epic.

Its fascinating and beautiful that under a black sun, everything is a complete white out

You are a literal hero! This scene stole the entire movie by depicting an alien culture

The announcer did not need to go this hard but I'm glad he did

One thing I’d point out in the subtitles is that at the beginning, where it’s written “Gel Disi, ” in the sentence this line matches up quite closely with “black sun, ” and also sounds like “Geidi.”

I think it’s more likely that the announcer is referring to the star by its name.

I’m in my class watching this video over and over again. Their language scratches my brain in the craziest way. It’s honestly better than some music.

The sardaukar scene from part 1 and the arena scene from part 2 are my favorite parts from both movies.

I intend to share it with every fan whenever a video of it shows up, for from my first watch of that movie I wanted to know the damn lyrics. So after repeating videos of the sort many, many times, I came up with this. I tried myself to keep some "consistency" with the words used, like establishing the language itself, but only how I hear it. It's a very guttural language, but I suspect it to be a shortened version of an already language of us, like russian, finnish or something. Just like how the Sardaukars are speaking english, but shortened, like when the commander says "It is done", he simply says "It'sa da." or something of the sort.

My second try on trying to put lyrics on that incredible scene. It sounded a lot like the Uruk-Hai warcries and how the orcs and uruks from Sauron besieging Minas Tirith.
*This part between [ ] is to be picky with, for I tried my best to decipher what's behind the crescendo.

I don't know how to describe it exactly but it feels like some frequencies are lacking on the announcer's voice, like he is speaking underwater ore something. It's subtle but it makes the scene even more alien. Chef's kiss!
