Obsidian is not Worth it Unless You Sit and Type

The Obsidian notes application is not optimal as a "phone app," but is wonderfully suited to someone that wants to sit at their desk and type, as part of their note-taking, creative, and/or learning process.

If the goal is deep conceptual understanding on a topic I prefer to write stuff down. Alot of obsidian deomonstraters on youtube showcase it as a tool for hoarding information.

I'm actually finding my vault as much more productive when I spend more time reading and documenting reading my notes. I used to write a lot but it's not useful later unless there is an obvious point to your writing

it seems good for notes in tech since ive noticed as ive written more and more notes for programming and devops etc that there is lots of overlap that I cant track super well so ima try it out.

I find the daily note feature templated is perfect on the phone, log and note everything you want to remember and using synchthing to sync is to a pc helps you manage your research or write or expand your personal knowledge base study etc

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Obsidian auf einem Stick zu installieren und dann auf jedem beliebigen PC zu öffnen? Würde das Programm gerne für meine Arbeit benutzen kann auf dem Rechner aber leider nichts installieren. Wäre auch praktisch, da ich mehrere Rechner zu Hause habe. Das Programm sieht auf jeden Fall interessant aus und ich werde das mal ausprobieren

I use the app Obsidian. Linking thinking. This app changed my life in such a positive way. Mindchanging and deep insight. Such a powerfull tool.

On the beginning difficult to learn like an Instrument but afterwards so powerfull.

Every thought is digital connected and has a high searchability.

What else works you do with Obsidian? Heh. Not sure what the point of this video is for and I just didn't too much time scratching my head over it.

It’s super useful as a phone app. What are you talking about? Would you rather I use note pad where I can’t organize any one my thoughts? What a worthless video. Of course if you want to make progress you need to sit down and write. We all know that. Why say it’s not useful as an app? I have organized my thought with the app. Without it I wouldn’t be able to keep track of my ideas. I also use it when I’m out and need to write something that I know I will forget later. What are you trying to say with this video? What about sitting at a keyboard is going to make my writing better? I get most of my inspiration while I’m out and about. As long as I’m writing, what’s the problem? To me this feels like gate keeping people writing proses.

I will if there is no interlinking between your notes it just not worth it. It more complex version of mindmap. Maybe good for story writing and reaserch. I personally never used it.
