A California lawmaker is following on the heels of Japan, New Zealand, Scotland and Ireland, introducing an act that would implement four-day workweeks in the U.S.

The 32-Hour Work Week Act wouldn’t scrap the typical 40 hours altogether but would require employers to pay staff overtime instead. Representative Mark Takano is gaining support from members of Congress and his colleagues for the measure, which he says could be the start of a “new normal.” Career coach Jermaine Murray joins “BNC GO” host Marcel Clarke to discuss its pros and cons.

They're trying to discourage unionizing. Contacted workers will be exempt from this bill. With so many people struggling people will have to choose between unionizing to get more rights or money with overtime. And we won't accrue as much vacation.
