Will A 4-Day Workweek Work?

Some California lawmakers want to redefine what’s considered full-time. AB 2932 would only apply to companies with at least 500 employees. It calls for a four-day workweek—and you’d get overtime after 32 hours.

I work 4 days a week but it’s 10 hours a day I like it, especially when you have a 3 day weekend

The rest of world is moving towards a 4 day work week and it has been shown to better for the workers mentally health and busted productivity. Don’t let corporations make you think otherwise they want you to work long hours with little pay.

If your required too and make 1 widget an hour, (average time) that is 40 widgets in a week. So how many widgets now in a 32 hour week? That is 1.25 widgets an hour. How is this better for morale and production?

Someone please explain to me how a retail worker becomes more productive when working 20% less time? A grocery store doesn't close 3 days a week. They simply have to hire more workers to cover the shifts vacated by everyone working less. And since the grocery store will be paying 20% more in labor costs, those costs will be passed on to consumers in higher prices. More inflation people. Don't be foolish...this is idiotic.

This is great in theory but it will never happen. No company will pay o.t after 32 hrs. There will be even more companies moving out of state or country. Their will be higher unemployment & more poverty.

You can use the extra day off to get a part time job cause you won't be able to afford california
