Mark, your transparency and will to share your knowledge is remarkable. It is humbling to see such a talented filmmaker putting years of experience into free videos. Thank you for helping so many people out there!

"Its OK to be stressed, but its not OK to be confused" - great phrase!

I've come to realize that most 'complex' problems are just a series of simple solutions. in this case it was matching colours that saved our feature film 😅. What's a simple tip you've learned?

Wow I think this is groundbreaking info for me. I think a lot of the time we could *feel out* the edit at the cost of time and trial and error but having a clear guideline like this will streamline that whole process.

The colour coding is absolutely brilliant. Love the idea of being able to come out of the edit suite and look at the big picture, without any footage or images clouding the story. Well done as always sir!

Let's all be honest here. We're all Lewis when we're editing. LOL. Great tip, man. I'm working on a small project right now and every new video you post I've been able to implement it into my project some how, super helpful. It also makes me feel better that even a pro like you is still learning new things. Love to see it!

this is powerful info!! when you can visualize, feel, and touch a film outside of an editing software that's where you begin to experience an outside perspective which usually provides the clarity you needed.

Thank, you, The tool Milanote, was a piece of new knowledge for me and it opened doors for more organized approach! Even though I don't do movies, it helps me for Corporate/Work townhall presentations and for making YouTube Videos!

I think I found Milanote about a year ago. I've been using it ever since and love it

These are some really gold nuggets here. Any time I’ve tried to write or tell a story I’ve always just focused on the plot but never let emotion build or characters breathe and develop and I can understand why in films I like these character arcs have always been so pivotal to supplement that plot. So good!

I’ve watched a ton of your videos and it helped me make my own mini documentary this year. A local film festival called me and wants to feature it. Your knowledge and sharing your experiences has helped me tremendously and I couldn’t thank you enough. Love from the Fiji Islands.

This was really helpful. I’ve honestly never thought about it like that in terms of too many emotional scenes or too many plot scenes in a row. But you’re right, that IS how you lose your audience. And you’re right, this applies to all forms of visual media. I’m gonna pay closer attention to that from now. Might have to go back over older work to see if I find the same thing happening there. Good stuff bro. Thanks a lot.

P.S. awesome haircut by the way. Lol ✊🏾
